THE DALLAS POST, MARCH 29, 1973 A group of Wilkes-Barre Campus students believe in ‘helping people’. In addition to their busy schedule of classes. membership in organizations on campus. they have formed an informal organization desig- nated as ‘‘People Help People.” Since its organization a little over a year ago. it has grown in membership, including a few fellow students from nearby colleges and some friends. They devote many hours of after class time to planning and carrying out activities helping less fortunate persons in nearby communities. People Help People is not a chartered club but an informal group of young people joined together in the common goal of helping others, trying to bridge the gap between needy people and themselves. The member- ship requirements are minimum - any student with extra time and interest in other human beings is more than welcome. One of their most satisfying projects has been working with the children at St. Stanislaus - spending time with them listening to their problems, them in subjects with which they are having difficulty, and planning simple but fun-filled social activities for them. Watching the students working or playing with the children from St. Stanislaus, it is difficult to determine which are happiest with gp project the children or the stdtients-but one thing certain, they all enjoy what they are doing and these young men and women at Wilkes-Barre Campus are to be commended for wanting to become ‘involved’ - for ‘doing their thing!’ We sell and service MGB and have for 23 years now.
