The first day of small game
season last Saturday was a
disappointment for local
hunters. Some hearty men
ventured forth in the rain by the
sound of nearby gunfire. but the
ring-necks and, rabbits had

Herb Smith and Mr. and Mrs.
John Mattern entertained in
honor of Mr. and Mrs. Gross at
a brunch at the Newberry
Estate.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Emerick
of Chase Road visited Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Dane at their new
home in Scranton where they
have recently moved from
Endicott, N.Y.
Wayne Lamoreaux, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Lamoreaux
] of Chase Road, only wanted one
{ thing for his ninth birthday—a
complete football outfit.
Wednesday evening, Oct. 25, a
few of his friends were invited
to share his birthday cake and
-admire the new football
uniform. Wayne is a third grade
student at Lake-Lehman.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Doran
spent last weekend visiting her
brother-in-law and sister, Mr.
and Mrs. William Stiles in
Geneva, N.Y.
The Two-Fold Club of the
Huntsville United Methodist
Church met last Saturday night
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Wesley Lamoreaux, Chase
Road. Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Kittle were co-hosts for the
evening.
Dick Hogoboom was a guest
at Pine Valley Country Club in
Clementon, N.J., last weekend.
Tuesday Nov. 7 is Election
Day. Again the Jackson Town-
ship Ambulance Association
will conduct a refreshment
booth and bake sale at the fire
hall adjacent to the polling site.
In addition to the usual wimpies
and hot dogs, they will feature
homemade chicken noodle
soup. Proceeds from the sale
will be used to install heat in the
ambulance garage. They are
hoping many of our neighbors
will vote at lunch time or plan to
take home goodies from the
bake sale.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Turner
of Sutton Road have issued
invitations to a dance on Nov. 17
at the Newberry Estate. Tom
and Sally are especially happy
to be honoring two of their
nephews, Carl Hedden and Lee
Turner, whose engagements
were announced recently. Carl
is engaged to Nancy Jones and
Lee is engaged to Sandra Hall.

Auxiliary to the Jonathan R.
Davis Fire Co. of Idetown met
| at the fire hall Oct. 18, with Pre-
sident Flo Rogan presiding. The
{ Auxiliary will hold a bake sale
on Election Day at the fire hall.

held Dec. 15.

recently camping throughout
the state of Pennsylvania.
During their travels they at-
tended the State meeting of
N.C.H.A. and took time out on
several occasions to observe
family anniversaries.
Mrs. Carey’s birthday was
Sept. 12 and the Adams’
daughter, Lorie, observed hers
on Sept. 13, so they were guests
of honor at a picnic party given
for them both by Mrs. Adams at
Ontelaunee Park in New
Tripoli. On the scene to help
celebrate were Mr. and Mrs.
Carl Carey Jr. and son, Kevin;
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Covert and
family; Mrs. Kenneth Covert
and Jimmy, and Edna Lee.
While at Ontelaunee, the group
saw Grandpa Jones, member of
the cast of the television show,
“Hee Haw’.
Other occasions for
celebrating were the 29th
wedding anniversary, Sept. 25,
of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carey Sr.
and the birthday anniversary of
Carl Carey Jr., Oct. 10.

Karen Iwarowski celebrated
her fifth birthday Oct. 31 with a
party that was enjoyed by all

Three year old George Cor-
reale celebrated his birthday
Oct. 26 with a birthday party
hosted by his sister Adele, 5,
and brother Louis, 9. Louis and
Adele planned the party them-
selves and even made the lop-
sided birthday cake. To tell the
truth—I would rather have done
it myself, if you know what I
mean!
