CLOTHING ALLOWANCES:
The Council of the Borough of
Harveys Lake, Luzerne County,
Pennsylvania, hereby ordains
and enacts that:
SECTION 1. It is the intention
and desire of the Council of the
Borough of Harveys Lake,
Luzerne County, Pennsylvania,
to amend Ordinance No. 13
adopted 1-22-68 entitled, “Police
Department.”
SECTION 2. Article III
Section 33-8 (B) of said or-
dinance shall be amended to
read as follows:
B. Each full-time member
shall be entitled to a clothing
allowance of one hundred fifty
dollars ($150.00) for his first
year of employment and one
hundred dollars ($100.00) per
year thereafter provided
however that all purchases
relative to this allowance must
be approved in advance by
council and yearly allowances
or any portion thereof shall not
be cumulative from year to
year. Each part-time member
shall be entitled to a clothing
allowance of one hundred
dollars ($100.00) for his first
year of employment and
seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per
thereafter provided
however that all purchases
relative to this allowance must
be approved in advance by
council. Yearly allowances or
any portion thereof shall not be
cumulative from year to year.
This allowance shall be used for
obtaining summer and winter
uniforms as are necessary for
the maintenance of a neat
appearance.
SECTION 3. All ordinances,
parts of ordinances, in-
consistent herewith are hereby
expressly repealed.

SECTION 2. Section 35-1 of
AN ORDINANCE OF BOROUGH OF HARVEYS LAKE, Luzerne
County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, fixing the tax rate
for the year 1972 and appropriating specific sums estimated to be
required for the specific purposes of the municipal government,
hereinafter set forth, during the current year.
BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED, and it is hereby ordained and
enacted by the Council of the Borough of Harveys Lake, County of
Luzerne, Pennsylvania:
SECTION 1. That a tax be and the same is hereby levied on all
property within the said municipality subject to taxation for the
fiscal year 1972, as follows:
Tax rate for general purposes, the sum of seven mills on each
dollar of assessed valuation, or the sum of seventy cents on each
one hundred dollars of assessed valuation.
SECTION 2. That for the expenses for the fiscal year 1972 the
following amounts are hereby appropriated from the revenues
available for the current year for the specific purposes set forth
below, which amounts are more fully itemized in the Budget Form.
