The environment of the Back
Mountain—and what can be
done to improve it—was the:
topic of discussion at a break-
‘fast meeting held recently at
the Irem Temple Country Club
and attended by representa-
tives of several area service
clubs and organizations.
Christmas Snow
Christmas is a time of year
When people like to sing and cheer.
The winter snow likes to drift
And make the children feel so swift.
On Christmas Eve the children listen
To hear the reindeer Donner and Blitzen.
In the morning they awake,
Plans were initiated to form a
committee which will serve as a
clearing house for ecology-re-
lated projects proposed by
various organizations in the
community. A spokesman for
the group suggested that efforts
by many service-oriented clubs
to improve the environment in

valuable as if they had been
planned cooperatively. It is the
intention of the newly formed
environmental action group to
take steps to avoid this over-
lapping of efforts through closer
communication and careful
planning.
George McCutcheon, a dele-
gate to the meeting from the Ki-
wanis Club, suggested that
there was a great deal of inter-
est in establishing such a clear-
ing house and that the ideas of-
fered by the new committee
members afforded many oppor-
tunities for ‘‘clean-up’’ projects.
“It’s impossible to tell where
we're going at this point,” Mr.
McCutcheon stated, ‘‘but the

Rehearsal for the Christmas
program of the Trucksville
United Methodist Church, to be
held Dec. 26, at 6 p.m. in the
educational building, is
scheduled for Dec. 26 following
Sunday School. The program
entitled ‘Chrsitmas in Living
Pictures’, under the direction of
Nancy McDonald, assisted by
Mrs. Robert Baird, Mrs.
Thomas Kreidler and Mrs.
Thomas Oliver, will be in-
troduced by the Rev. Dr.
Laurence T. Beers and narrated
by Dr. Owen Faut. The ac-
companist is Nancy Pichert,
and Robert Baird and Bobby
Baird will provide a brass duet.
The following children of the
Sunday School will have parts
