In the George Shupp League, Monk Plumbing and Heating boys held their lead as they swept 4 points from Wilkes- Barre Truck. C. Molley blasted lanes 1 and 2 for a 238 (610) with teammate J. Lerch finding the range for 201-204 (586). D. Purvin gave the plumbers support with 201. E. Scandio was high for the truckers with 223. Harris Associates blanked Bill's Cafe to take sole possession of the second spot. K. Orkwis led the victors with 201- 221 (601) with help from J. Guido’s 222 and S. Bonomo'’s 208. T. Appel blistered the maples for a dandy 201-209 (574) series as Stanton’s TV shut out Mahaffey Oil. W. Stanton gave him a boost with 205. The oilers ~ big gun’s remained silent. The Ranch Wagon fell to a third place tie with the TV men as they dropped 4 points to Boston Texaco. The service station men were led by G. Boston’s 203. The ranchers’ S. Fielding slammed a 224 series. Daring’s Market had T. Heness pounding the wood for 215 as they split ‘even with Woodland Inn. A. Matte continued to roll her 500 series as she posted 182-189 (526) pacing G. H. Harris girls to a clean sweep over Ertley’s in the Ladies Country League. ~ Brothers Four’s A. Corbett toppled the pins for 174-178 (519) as the first half champs took 4 points from Joe's Pizza. F. Allabaugh’s (495) series paced Daring’s Market to a 4 point win over Fashion Vending. Other highs registered in the Tuesday night league were L. Cyphers 182, A. Hospodar 170, R. Gula 180-178, R. Coury 190. In the Industrial League Daring’s put forth a solid team effort and shut out Electrolux despite R. Bonomo’s wallooing 217. Jack Winters and Hurst Supplies battled it out to a 2-2, draw. Larksville 66 trounced .. Hoppy’s Cafe for 3 points and ~ Boston Texaco split 2-2. Jack Winters men are out in front by two games ahead of Hurst Supplies. The Maverick’s trampled the Bucks for 4 points in the Valley Paperback Mixed League. Barb Bonning led the attack with 184- 185-184 (553) with Jane Bicking helping out with 173 (476). ‘I'he Cougars outsmarted the high spirited Pintos 3-1, with Ray Mocium hitting 202. Geo. Groff led his Bears in taking three points from the Panthers. He knocked out 200-215 (595). Joe Yanalavitch paced the Cubs to a clean sweep over the Wolves. His 232 followed by J. Martin’s 214 were deciding factors. The Christmas Party Held in Huntsville Elma and Mildred Major entertained the Christmas party of the Christian Women’s Fellowship of the Huntsville Christian Church at their home. Carols were sung and a devotional service with several members participating was held. Members brought gifts for the White Haven State School. Several members brought in finished layettes for Church ~ World Service. It was announ- ced that Woman’s Day will be observed Jan. 23, with June Christensen speaking. Dallas Dairy, current leaders in Crown Imperialette League widened the gap in their league as they handed Fairview Shoe Store a 4-0 setback. C. Downs splintered the woods for 176. Goodman Florist ended in second position by taking 3 points from Don’s Citgo. Apex took third by copping 3 points from O’Malia Laundry. High scores for the night were S. Riegel 177 (487), J. Agnew 171 (477), J. Bicking 182 (465), F. Rittenhouse 171, J. Cornell 173. Junior High bowlers continue to improve as the team mem- bers begin to get the feel of the lanes. K. Bonawitz smashed out 191 for his Health team; Sally Porter hit 170 (418) for Art, Debbie Foss hit two identical games of 139 for the History five and Don Carter had 166 for the German keglers.
