loader according to the follow-
ing detailed specifications:
A used diesel powered
crawler loader, with not less
than sixty (60) or more than
sixty-five (65) horsepower,
weighing not less than fourteen
thousand (14,000) or more than
fifteen thousand (15,000) pounds
equiped with one (1) yard
bucket.
All bids shall be in writing,
shall be upon the equipment as
specified with no alterations or
substitutions and shall be
mailed or handed to the
Secretary of the Township of
Noxen, Loren Case, in a sealed
envelope plainly marked on the
face thereof, ‘Crawler Loader
Bid”, not later than 9 a.m. EST
on Saturday, February 13, 1971,
at which time said bids shall be
opened and publicly read at a
special meeting of the Board of
Supervisors of said Township at
the regular meeting place, in
said Township, and accepted by
public announcement at the
meeting at which the bids are
received or at a subsequent
meeting, the time and place of
which shall be publicly an-
nounced when the bids are
opened.
Each bid shall be ac-
companied by a good faith
deposit by cash or certified
check in the amount of ten (10)
per centum of the amount of the
bid to guarantee performance
by any bidder whose bid is ac-
cepted by said Township.
The successful bidder shall
make delivery of said crawler
loader fully equipped as
specified and in good operating
condition not later than ten (10)
days from the date of the award
and therewith deliver a Perfor-
mance Bond in the form on file
with the Secretary of said
Township.
The successful bidder shall
comply with all statutory re-
quirements of the Common-
wealth of Pennsylvania
governing the furnishing of
materials, equipment and-or
supplies to Townships of the
Second Class.
Said crawler loader shall be
guaranteed against defects in
workmanship and materials
and-to:be: in. perfect-operating
condition when delivered.
The Board of Supervisors of
the Township of Noxen hereby
reserve the right to reject any
or all bids and the right to waive
any informalities in bidding.

sewer excavations
to begin in February
The Dallas Area Municipal
Authority has authorized Roy F.
Weston, firm of environment
scientists and engineers, to
issue formal notices to con-
tractors to proceed with the
construction of the proposed
sewage plant and interceptors
for the Back Mountain. Action
was taken at a regular meeting
of members Jan. 21 in the
library of Dallas Senior High
School.
A pre-construction con-
ference of authority members,
successful contractors and
engineers was held Jan. 26 in
the West Chester office of
Weston. All contracts have been
signed.
Jan Kem, project manager
for Weston, stated that excavat-
ing will be started no later than
mid-February. He said a low
pace would be maintained until
the weather breaks in the
spring.
A $10,500 invoice was received

BERNARD WILLIAMSON
Bernard Francis Williamson,
68, of 94 Church St., Dallas, died
Jan. 19 in the office of a Trucks-
ville physician following a heart
attack.
Mr. Williamson was born in
Wilkes-Barre but had resided in
Dallas for the past 30 years.
Before his retirement he was
employed for 34 years as a
salesman for Kutz Bakery.
He is survived by his widow,
the former Helen Lewis;
sisters, Florence McTague,
Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. William
McLaughlin, Va.
Private funeral services were
conducted Friday at the Disque
Funeral Home, Dallas, with the
Rev. Andrew Pillarella, pastor
of the Trinity United Presbyter-
ian Church, officiating. Burial
was in St. Peter’s Evangelical
Lutheran Cemetery, Hilltown.
HELEN E. McCORD
Helen E. McCord, 74, of 26
Holcomb Road, Shavertown,
died in the Carpenter Convale-
scent Home at Idetown Wednes-
day, Jan 21. She had been a
guest at the home since last
April.
Born in Wilkes-Barre April 19,
1896, Miss McCord was the
daughter of the late James and
Melissa Edwards McCord. She

her life.
A graduate of Wilkes-Barre
High School and Wilkes-Barre
General Hospital School of
Nursing, Miss McCord was a
practicing registered nurse for
many years. She was a member
of the St. Barnabas Guild of
Nursing and a member of
Shavertown United Methodist
Church.
She is survived by her niece,
Mrs. J. Mark Robinson, RD 4,
Tunkhannock; and a sister
inlaw, Mrs. George F. McCord,
Kingston.
Funeral services were held -
Friday at the Harold C.
Snowdon Funeral Home, Sha-
vertown, with the Rev. Robert
DeWitt Yost, pastor of Shaver-
town United Methodist Church,
officiating. Interment was in
Woodlawn Cemetery, Dallas.
FRANK MARTI
A native of Switzerland,
Frank Marti, 60, of Dallas RD,
died Jan. 25 in Wilkes-Barre
General Hospital. He had been
employed as a waiter.
Mr. Marti had been a guest at |.
the Giberson Nursing Home,
Idetown, for seven months.
He is survived by daughters,
Barbara Sweeney and Virginia
Jacobs, both of Wilmington,
Del.; sons, Frank, Wilmington;
John, Long Island City, N.Y.; 13
grandchildren.

ducted Wednesday afternoon at
Bronson’s Funeral Home,
Sweet Valley, with the Rev.

Raymond R. Balut, 63, of 64
N. Pioneer Ave., Shavertown,
died Monday afternoon at the
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital
following an illness.
Mr. Balut was born in Ed-
wardsville but resided in
Shavertown for 34 years. A
furrier in Wilkes-Barre more
than 40 years, he conducted the
shop known as Ramon Furs, 39
E. Northampton St.
He was a communicant of St.
Therese’s Church. ]
He is survived by his widow,
