Mrs. Albert Armitage at 116
Lakeside Drive. Mrs.
Beckerman and Brenda re-
mained for the weekend.

Thansgiving with Mr. and Mrs.
Floyd Thompson at Forty-Fort.
Dr. and Mrs. John Siegal and
family and Mr. and Mrs. A.M.
Javer were Thanksgiving
dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Javer in Kingston.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gregory
were dinner guests of Mr. and
Mrs. William Javer Thursday.

found sanctuary in an area of
the Island of Hawaii which the
National Park Service now pre-
serves as City of Refuge
National Historical Park.
Custom permitted such social
outcasts to return unharmed to

service has answered.
One of the far-reaching effects of Call For
Action, the chairman predicts, will be that govern-
ment planning agencies will soon know where there
is a lack of help for troubled persons.
“We already know from the calls that have
come in to us that while there is an agency which
deals with the problem of child abuse, there is no
group or agency to handle the problem of abuse or
neglect of the aged,” the chairman stated. ‘“We
have discovered a number of older people in this
area who have been left to shift for themselves,
completely without the help of family or friends.”

Tentative building plans include converting the
present Lehman-Jackson Elementary School to a
junior high school. The expense involved in this
would be minimal, Mr. Belles pointed out, because
the school was once a senior high school and neces-
sary faciities such as showers, a gym, and stage
area have been kept intact. ‘““We’d have to raise the
blackboards, install a home ec. room, a few things
like that,” Mr. Belles noted, ‘‘but on the whole it
would be a lot cheaper to build a new elementary
school than a junior or senior high school.”
