to Lake Lehman
Sr. High faculty
Six new teachers have been
added to the faculty at Lake-
Lehman High School, five of
which will begin their teaching
careers when schools opens
Sept. 9.
Carole Pyle, 306 Huntsville
Road, Dallas, previously taught
-school at Chestnut Ridge High
School, Fishertown. She gradu-
ated from Spangler High
School, Spangler, and received
a B.S. degree in music from
Indiana State University and
has a permanent certificate for
library science from Marywood
College, Scranton,
Darlene Chwastek, 91 Beech
St., Wilkes-Barre, attended
Meyers High School and
graduated from Wilkes College
with a B.A. degree in art in
June. While attending Wilkes,
she was active in drama and art
clubs.
John Comitz, 22 S. Sherman
St., Wilkes-Barre, attended
- G.A.R. High School and gradu-
ville High School,
ated from George Washington
University, Washington, D.C.
with a B.A. degree in social
studies in June. At the universi-
ty he was active in all sports.
Christine Ores, 53 E. Carey
St., Plains, attended Sacred
Heart High School, and gradu-
ated with a B.S. degree in
science from College Misericor-
dia, Dallas, in June.
Mary Beth Stare, 90 Oak St.,
Forty Fort, attended Central
Catholic High School, Kingston,
and graduated from Mansfield
State College with a B.S. degree
in English. Her husband, David,
teaches history at Plains High
School. They have an 18 months
old son, David Jr.
John Thomas, 470 W. State
St., Larksville, attended Larks-
Larksville,
and graduated with a B.S.
degree in mathematics from
Lock Haven State College.
While attending college he was
active in all sports.
Lake-Lehman enrolls
936 at high school
A total of 936 high school
students is expected to be en-
rolled at Lake-Lehman on the
first day of the 1970-71 term.
There will be 188 in the seventh
grade; 164 in eighth grade; 188
in ninth; 136 in tenth; 138 in
eleventh, and 122 in twelfth.
The figures show an increase
of approximately 43 students
over the one of 893 on the closing
- day of school. The above figures
do not include the 60 students
that will be attending West Side
Area Vocational-Technical
School in Pringle.

Lake-Lehman School District
will begin the 1970-71 school
term Sept. 9 as announced by
Anthony Marchakitus, assistant
supervising principal, with all
students reporting to their
homerooms at 8:15 a.m. Stu-
dents will dismissed at 3:35 and
buses will depart at 3:42 p.m.
The school cafeteria will
serve ‘“‘Class A” lunches begin-
ning the first day of school.
All buses have been inspected
and approved by the Pennsyl-
vania State Police and will op-
erate on the time schedule listed
below, traveling the same ap-

Environmental Concern has an-
nounced that 5,200 signatures of
people opposing the construc-
tion of the proposed fast breeder
nuclear reactor planned by
Pennsylvania Electric Co. on
the Susquehanna River near
Meshoppen, have been obtained
on petitions.
