When a group of persons drivers alerted for school buses Each year, immediately fol- lowing Labor Day, motorists are again urged to be on the alert for school buses on the highways. The Pennsylvania AAA Federation asks motorists to improve their knowledge of regulations regarding the pas- sing of school buses. Everyone who gets behind the wheel of a vehicle should make an effort to do all they can to insure the safety of those children on school buses and of those stand- ing or walking along roads. ANTIQUES GIFTS REPRODUCTIONS | AT THE GOLDEN [ALLIGATOR 201 TIGUE ST. DUNMORE es § I erm (OPP. HOLIDAY INN EAST TELEPHONE 3425221 || gathered in the living room of Mr. and Mrs. George K. Mosser, proprietors of the tan- nery 75 years ago, the church was merely a dream. They dis- cussed holding Sunday School sessions in the tannery. Out of that dream grew the idea of starting a Lutheran church in the community. Ministers and theological students were in- vited to conduct a Lutheran ser- vice more or less regularly. A Lutheran congregation of 22 charter members was or- ganized and the Rev. H.F.J. Senecker became the first pastor. It was in his pastorate that the call on May 19, 1895 was made for a meeting to be held June 1, 1895 in order to organize the group into a regular congre- gation. According to a report of the meeting, “It was moved by Adam D. Kresge that the Luth- eran Congregation of Noxen be known as ‘St. Luke’s Evangel- ical Lutheran Church.” Thirteen pastors, beginning with the Rev. H.F.J. Senecker in 1894, and ending with the Rev. Wesley K. Kimm in 1965, have served the congregation. It is the fervent hope of the con- gregation that this 75th anniver- sary celebration will give them the leadership, loyalty, fellow- ship, and courage needed to ac- cept the challenge before them. A cordial invitation is extend- ed to members and friends to participate in the occasion Sept.
