Philip Fitelson Philip Fitelson, Mountaintop, has been appointed assistant to the publisher of Northeastern Newspapers Inc., it was an- nounced this week by Henry H. Null 4th, publisher. Mr. Fitelson has wide experience in the cir- culation and promotion depart- . ments of daily newspapers. He was with The New York Herald Tribune's circulation department for 18 years where he was a traveling representa- tive in charge of a 22-state area. He also was a circulation repre- sentative with The Jersey Jour- nal, Jersey City, N.J., The Hud- son Dispatch, Hudson, N.Y.; The Yonkers Herald (now: the Herald-Statesman), Yonkers, N.Y., and The Omaha World Herald, Omaha, Neb. Mr. Fitelson, who retired from newspapers and is now coming back to them, has an award from American Airlines for being the first circulation man to deliver newspapers by airplane. He was with The New York Herald Tribune at that time, 1922. At present Mr. Fitelson is in the real estate business as a licensed real estate broker and appraiser in three states, Penn- sylvania, New York and New Jersey. His offices are at Moun- taintop. In 1959 Mr. Fitelson was elected school director for the Central Luzerne County School District. He served as president and director of ‘the Retreat State Hospital board of trustees. He was on the Committee of Humanities appointed by Gov. William W. Scranton. Mr. Fitelson will keep an of- fice at Northeastern News- papers Inc., 41 Lehman Ave., Dallas.
