UGI Films
We would like to publicly
thank Richard Demmy of UGI,

The contest, which is similar

failed to answer a question
another school could answer
for five points. After the con-
test was completed, Dallas
proved to be on top with 125
Hazleton and
Lehighton earned 80 and 75
points respectively. The ques-
tions were in the areas of
science, language arts, social
and current events.
The Dallas students answered
15 questions and got 15 correct.

Junior class dance
The junior class will sponsor
a dance March 21 in the school
gym from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Music will be provided by the
‘‘Gibraltor,” admission being
$1. Class president George.

The junior class held a meet-
ing in the auditorium March
11 with class president George.
Messersmith presiding. The
class was divided into groups
to plan for the patron drive
which was held March 11,
12, 13, 14 and 15. The money
collected goes into the junior
class treasury to aid the class
with its various expenses.
Thomas Sapser
observes birthday
Lance Cpl. Thomas M. Sap-
ser, son of Frances Sapser,
RN, North Pennsylvania Ave-
nue, Wilkes-Barre, also son of
Thomas Sapser, Dallas, re-
cently observed his 21st birth-
day anniversary in Vietnam.
Cpl. Sapser is stationed with
the 1st Marine Division, 1st
Battalion, Heavy Artillery,
near DaNang, South Vietnam.
He is a graduate of Cough-
lin High School and attended
Luzerne County Community
College before enlisting in
the Marine Corps. He took ba-
sic training at Paris Island,
S.C., and advanced training at
Camp Lejeune, N.C. He was
also stationed at Camp Pendle-
ton, Calif., before leaving for
Vietnam last July.
Cpl. Sapser is married to
the former Lana Vanchure,
Matson Avenue, Parsons. He
is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs.
Michael Kosminsky, Harveys
Lake and Wilkes-Barre.
‘“‘Battle of Sexes’
‘‘Battle of The Sexes—Is Mar-
riage Worth Saving?’ is the
topic of the address to be given
by Dr. William A. Rutter,
of Jefferson Medical College,
at the medical seminar being
held today at the Wilkes-Barre
General Hospital.

The Dallas Senior = High
School band, a 100 piece grade
school band, and the mixed
senior high chorus will com-
bine to present a spring con-
cert March 20 at 8 p.m. in the
auditorium of the Dallas Senior
High School. The band program
will be conducted by Lester R.
Lewis with the chorus under
the direction of Florence Sher-
wood.
A brass quartet, a woodwind
trio, a trombone solo and the
senior high stage band will
offer selections.
The stage band will select
numbers that show various
rhythms in modern dance ar-

sists of only ‘fifth and sixth
grade students from the Dallas
Intermediate School. It will be
the first band experience. for
many of them. Kurt Pyle, a
sixth grade student, will play
a trombone solo and will be
acc.ompanied by Nancy Pich-
