At a pep rally March 3 the
Dal-Hi cheerleaders performed
a mock basketball game for
the student body. The ‘‘game’’
resulted in hilarity. The Dallas

appearance at the pep rally.
The pep rally was held prior
to the Dallas-Valley West game.

Girls’ basketball
LL’s fantastic female cagers
wound up a great season with
a 7-1 record, having bowed only
to Nanticoke. At the con-
clusion of the second half, the
Lady Knights were tied for
first place with Nanticoke and
met them for a third time
at Coughlin’s gymnasium. Al-
though LLHS put up a chal-
lenging fight, Nanticoke man-
aged to squeeze through with
a 33-26 victory which put
LLHS in second place.
This was the final game for
seniors Darlene Snell and
Sharon Leinthall, the captains
of the team. Since most of
the girls will return for the
1970-71 season, the future looks
very bright. Wilma Schierer is
the coach.
Junior play
“The Defiance of David
Charles” was presented to a
packed auditorium March 6.
This annual production, spon-
sored by the junior class, was
an overwhelming success and
immediately captured the at-
tention of the spectators. It
involved a 17-year-old boy,
troubled because he felt he
could not live up to his
father’s distinguished reputa-
tion. Naturally, he and his
father came to an understand-
ing at the play’s conclusion.
Francis Wilczewski, junior
class advisor, served as the
director, with Joanita Swartz
chosen as student director.
College boards
All interested academic
junior and senior students took
college boards March 7 at
Dallas High School for all
Wyoming Valley students. The
test was centered around
English and math portion of
the curriculm.

other schools and we are
very happy to report that
LLHS ranked in the top six.
Although they didn’t rank
number one, LL feels that they
did an excellent job during the
sports season and deserve the
warmest congratulations. Deb-
bie Rinken and Collene Wan-
del are the co-captains of the
squad.
