Born in Teasdale, Pa., son of Mr.
and Mrs. Adam Belles, the octagen-
arian has resided in the Back Moun-
tain since 1923. Mr. Belles entered
the mines at an early age and work-
ed for a number of ‘major coal com-
panies prior to retirement.
