Dallas Cub Pack Receives Awards
Dallas Cub ‘Scout Pack 281, met
March 25 at the Dallas Methodist
Church with Achievement awards
being persented by James Hopple,
cubmaster.
Opening ceremony was presented
by Den 7 under direction of Mrs.
H. Eckman.
The following cubs received
badges, David Casselberry, James
Bolger, Christopher Kaye, David
Laidlaw, Bobcat; Scott Slocum,
David Mattern, Wolf; Dana Parrish,
Silver Arrow under Wolf; Brian Mc-
Cartney, Robert Blase, Bear; Brian
McCartney, Bruce Munn, Gold Ar-
row under Bear. Robert Scott,

March meetings of Lake-Lehman
P.T.A. were held in the individual
elementary buildings. Mrs. Leonard
Selingo, area vice-president pre-
sided at the meeting held at the
Lehman-Jackson School. Mrs. Mar-
tin Samuels of the Osterhout Li-
brary spoke on ‘Books and Your
Child”. She was introduced by Mrs.
Gordon Dawe, president of the Lake
Lehman P.T.A.
Miss Hannah Culp accepted six
record players, on behalf of the
school. The record players were pur-
chased with funds provided by the
membership drive held ‘annually in
October. Each building in the school
district received a percentage of the
money collected in this drive.
Robert Z. Belles, Supervising Prin-
cipal, reported on the new Book-
mobile which will soon be in use
in the school district. Mrs. Frances
Perrego’s third grade class was
awarded the membership banner
for having the highest percentage
of parents attending. The P.T.A.
sponsored blood assurance program
was explained and “parents were
asked to support the plan by con-
tributing blood at the semi-annual
collections. ]
Hostesses were Mrs. Robert Ma-
furi, Mrs. Edward Belasco, Mrs.
William Frey, Mrs. Glendora Shel-
anski and Mrs. Michael Godek. Mrs.
Godek, Hospitality Chairman, wishes
to thank all mothers who helped
her during the year.
CASH AND CHECKBOOK
RESTORED
A checkbook and forty dollars
in bills, found in Mrs. John Sen-
chak’s backyard on Overbrook Ave-
nue two weeks ago, were restored
to the rightful owner, Mrs, Cather-
ine Nash, by ‘the young man who
discovered them, perilously close to
the trash burner. Urged to accept
a reward, Mrs. Senchak’s son Fred
refused. A run-down on the hap-
pening showed that Mrs. Nash's
son had taken a shortcut across the
Senchak yard on coming home from
the bank; dropping cash and check-
book en route. Y
