Dallas Cagers Are First Half Champs; Wrestlers Still Go Undefeated
Mountaineers Hold Top Position
Averaging 92.2 Points A Game
The Dallas High School basket-
ball team copped the first half
° championship in the North League
Friday night when it downed Crest-
wood, 84-60 on the winners’ floor.
The game was played before a
packed house.
The Mountaineers continued to
please their fans with fine team
work. The game broke open mid-
way through the second period

#At Greenfield Village
A combination of nearly 60 of to-
day's flashiest sports: jobs and
several of their antique counter-
parts are featured in the exciting
sports car show at Henry Ford
Museum in Greenfield Village.
The show is called “Sports Cars
in Review” and has for its theme
in 1966, “Les Pur-Sang”’, or “pure |
bloods”, denoting the type of auto-
mobile . developed exclusively for
sports driving. The show, held an-
nually. at the Museum since 1952,
will run every day through Feb-
ruary 6.
Besides the ‘pure bloods”, both
old and’ new, the show features
‘dozens of sparkling new general
sports “models . and specially * built
«Competition ‘cars, including the
‘Lotus-Ford that captured last year’s
classic Indianapolis 500.
#» Five unique ‘pure blooded” old-
when Dallas pressed Crestwood, in-
tercepted several passes and out-
scored the Comets, 12-0, in three
| minutes of action.
Mike Wilkes scored 34 points
and took 27 rebounds. Roy Supul-
ski chalked up a total of 27, with
10 rebounds and Sandy Beech
caught 12 rebounds.
| The Dallas team has an impres-
sive record for the season so far
with a total of 14 wins and 1 loss.
This includes six games played in
exhibition and two in the WSCC
Invitational Tournament. The one
loss was suffered in an exhibition
game with Plymouth which ended
65-64.

ship, 71-70 in an exciting game. |
The ZXKnights led throughout the |
game, outscoring their opponents !
16-11 in the opening period and
17-15 in the second, leading at the
half, 33-26. :
The two teams shot basket for
basket in the third quarter, each
picking up 21 points. The township
rallied in the final period, out-
scoring the Lakers 23-17, but it
was too late and Lake-Lehman had
its second consecutive win.
Edwin Kern set the pace for the
Knights, shooting 11 goals and scor-
ing 3 from the foul line. Konigus
and Rodriguez were in the double
figures with 4 goals each, and 2
foul shots and Chuck Kern and
Shaw both added 4 and 1 for a
total of 9 points each. Spencer toss-
ed in 3 and 2.

from June 27 through ‘August 5.

chewable, like shoes and linoleum,
out of his view. Quite a few people,
after hearing that the dog is a dal-
mation, have inquired about wheth-
er or not we got a fire truck with
him. We didn't. ’
