Miller, South Pioneer Avenue,

Miss Miller was born in Wilkes-
Barre, daughter of John E. and

She retired in 1955 after fifty years
as secretary at Thompson Derr In-
surance Company, Wilkes-Barre.
A member of St. Therese’s, she
| also belonged to its chaper of Cath-
| olic Daughters.
A sister, Catherine H. Miller sur-

Burial was in St. Mary's Ceme-
tery, Hanover Township.

Mr. and Mrs. Kuehn came to
Dallas in 1913 with her son John
A. Ammerman, and his young son,
the late Karl Kuehn and daughter
late Lydia Rohrbach, when the
couple purchased the George Nor-
ton Drug Store. They worked as
a team building a fine country ‘busi-
ness; and their store, along with
Earl Monk's Plumming and Ryman’s
Hardware and Lumber Stores, Bul-
ford’s* Blacksmith Shop, C. A.
Frantz's General Store, Chester
White's Butcher Shop, Charlie Greg-

Repair Shop, . were social centers
where farmers gathered on Satur-
days when they came to town to

The Kuehns were kindly and good
neighbors. In those horse and
buggy days, Mrs. Kuehn many times
walked miles to deliver an order
to a critical child or got out of bed
with her husband to make up a
prescription for an elderly friend.
She was one of the first pres-
.idents of the Pharmaceutial Aux-
was a charter member of
Eastern Star, and a member of
| Dallag Methodist Church. The only
church in the area then.
Mrs. Kuehn's avocation was pol- |
itics.. A devoted Republican all her
life, she in later years became com-
mittee woman for the borough,
then the county, then the state.
She was a leader in every political
rally, did an enthusiastic job of
electioneering at the polls, and
never failed to vote even when she
was in the hospital or ill at” home.
She is survived by her son, John
A. Ammerman of Allentown, step
grand sons, Frank Kuehn of Dallas,
and Karl Rohrbach, Exton, Pa., and
several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services were held
from an Ed-
wardsville funeral home, Rev. Rob-
ert Sheehan officiating. Burial was
in Langecliffe Cemetery, Avoca.
