Mr. and Mrs. William Burnaford
David and Billy, Havertown, spent
the holiday with Mrs. Burnaford’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Kingston, Tarlton Avenue. Billy is
spending some time with his grand-
parents. S/Sgt. Samuel Fowler.
Fairfax, Va., son-in-law of Mr. and
Mrs. Kingston, is in Hawaii on
TDY. While he is away, his family
are confined with chicken pox. Mrs.
Fowler is the former Jackie Kings-
ton.

Australian Wedding May 1 For
Marjorie Davis And Ross Walker
Marjorie Elizabeth Davis, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. William Davis,
Shaver Avenue, Shavertown, was
married May 1 to Ross Henry Walk-
er, son of Mr. and Mrs. K, D. Walk-
er, Rosewhite, Australia.

leford, Victoria, was performed by.
the Rev. Corly Butler, and tape re-
corded so Marjorie’s parents, who
were unable to attend, can hear it.
The bride, given in marriage by
Mr. Wash Briggs, uncle of ‘the
groom, wore a long white peau de
sole frock sent from home by her
parents. Her fingertip veil fell from
a rhinestone and pearl crown and
she carried white roses.
Bridesmaids were Glenice and
Kerry Walker, cousins of the groom,
and his sister, Leonie, wearing aqua
chiffon © with matching = crowns.
Sprays of pink carnations were
attached to muffs made of the same
material.
Franne and Vivian Walker, cous-
ins, and- Vicki, sister of the groom,
were flower girls, dressed .in pink
chiffon and: carrying gold baskets
of pink. carnations.

To Wed Texas Girl
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Barnes of Wes-
laco, Texas, announce the engage-
ment and approaching marriage of
their daughter Joan Elaine to
Charles A. Brace, Jr., of Montross,
Pa. Mr. Brace is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles A. Brace, Sr., of Mont-
ross and the grandson of Mr. and
Mrs. William Brace of Kunkle.
The wedding will take place at
7:30 p. m. on September 4th in the
First Baptist Church. in Weslaco.
Miss Barnes, a graduate of Wes-
laco High School is a Senior at
Mary Hardin Baylor College in
Belton.
Mr. Brace attended Montross High
School and is now stationed with
the U. S. Army at Fort Hocd, Texas.

} Best man was Allen Wolfenden,
Wayne and Douglas Smith were
groomsmen. Allan Rayner sang
while the Registrar was being
signed.
During the reception which fol-
lowed at the Myrtleford Hotel, Mar-
jorie and Ross called her parents by
phone. For their trip to Surfers
Paradise and Brisbane, Queensland,
the bride wore a winter white wool
suit and brown accessories.
Marjorie is a graduate of Dallas
Area Senior High School, which
Ross also attended as a Rotary BEx-
change student. They will live at
White Birch Trailer Court and he
'will go into business with Mr.
Davis in Dallas.

Mrs. Lamoreaux is the former
Alice Lloyd, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. G. Harold Lloyd, Shickshinny,
former ' residents of Shavertown.
I Mr. Lamoreaux is the son of Mrs.
Martha Lamoreaux, Dallas, RD 3,
and the late Ray Lamoreaux. He is
employed in Pittsburg.
Present were Mrs. G. Harold
Lloyd and Linda, Jerry and Ronald
Spencer, Sandy and Debbie Lam-
oreaux, and host and hostess.

men competing. Mrs. W. Howell
Evans won with a net of 77. The
putting contest was won by Mrs.
