Sandra Payne Is Married
Sandra Payne, daughter of Mr.
and Mr. Harold G. Payne, R. D. 3
Greensburg, Pa., formerly of Har-
veys Lake, carried her mother’s
chiffon and lace wedding handker-
chief at her marriage to Carl Linds-
trom Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs.
E. L. Becker, Williamsport.
The candlelight ceremony took
place June 26 in First Methodist
| Church, Greensburg, Dr. Kenneth P.
Rutter officiating. Decorations were
white gladiolas and mums, cymbidi-
ums, palm and ferns. Soloist was
Mrs. James Nash, with Mrs. William
Dovenspike at the organ.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a floor length ivory
sheath of imported Renaissance
lace with portrait neckline, short
sleeves, detachable cathedral train
of peau de soie, and matching man-
tilla headpiece. She carried a show-
ered bouquet of philanopsis, fleur
d’amour and variegated ivy, to
which her mother’s handkerchief
was attached.
Gail Bryan, Holiday Park, Pitts-
burg, was her sister's matron of
honor. Bridesmaids were Connie
Becker, Philadelphia, and ‘Linda
Becker, Williamsport, sisters of the
groom; Ann Chance, Philadelphia,
and Nancy Snone, Massachusette
College, bride.
Classmates of the

dlelight lace and silk organza had
scoop necklines, elbow sleeves, fit-
ted lace bodices, apron front organ-
za skirts with back inserts of lace,
and narrow fern green ribbon sash-
es. Their illusion headpieces had bow
trim.Mrs. Bryan carried gold cym-
bidium, fleur d’amour and English
ivy. :
Best man Anthony Pollett, Wil-
liamsport, and usher Joseph Zim-
merman, Saxton, were fraternity
brothers of the groom. Other ushers
were his cousin, Harry Paul Ille,
Clifton, N. J., and Grover F. Ander-
son, Harveys Lake, cousin of the
bride.
Jean Machelle Payne, Greensburg,
and Karen Lndstrom, Williamsport,
five year old cousins of the bride
and groom, were flower girls, wear-
ing white organdy and carrying
white baskets with pink rose buds.
Ring bearer was three year old
Craig A. Bryan II, nephew of the:
bride, wearing a white Eton suit.
Mrs. Payne wore a two piece silk
ribbon knit dress and floral hat of
shaded yellow, gold and green. Mrs.
Becker wore a pink pastel sheath
with matching accessories. Each
carried a cymbidium purse corsage.
A reception was held at Mountain

Mrs. Quick is the former Marion
McAllaster, daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Lewis, McAllaster, Syra-
cuse, N. Y.
Mr. Quick is the son of Mrs.
Laura Quick, Syracuse. He is
supervisor at Red Rock Radar In-
stallation.

Observe Wedding Date
Mr. and Mrs. William Parry, ob-
served their fifteenth wedding,
Thursday, July 1, at their home,
Saginaw Street, Dallas.
They are the parents of four chil-
dren, Fred, Lloyd, William and Nan.
The couple were wed in the Beth-
esda Congregational Church, Ed-
wardsville, by Rev. Paul Harris.
Mrs. Parry is the former Nan
Lloyd, daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Stanley Lloyd, Kingston.
Mr. Parry is the son of Fred L.
Parry, Luzerne. He is associated
with his father in the Rambler
business, Luzerne.
They are members of Dallas
Methodist Church.
Constance John
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald T. John, Sky-
view Drive, New Goss Manor, Dallas,
have welcomed into their home a
daughter Constance, 2 months old.
Mrs. John is the former Joan
Urban of Swoyersville.
Beth Ann Gallagher
An eight pound, fourteen ounce
daughter, Beth Ann, was born to
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gallagher,
Perrin Avenue, S$havertown, June
28, at General Hospital.
There are two! sons, Joseph and
John. Mrs. Gallagher is the for-
mer Josephine Zebélin, Hazleton.
Mr. Gallagher is employed with
Commonwealth Telephone Co.

Key, Florida, the couple will live in
Bordertown, N. J. Mr. and Mrs.
Becker are both graduates of Ly-
coming College, Williamsport. He is
an executive trainee of Sears Roe-

New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Flor-
ida, Chicago, Virginia and Eastern
Pennsylvania. College friends and
relatives entertained at a combined
shower.

Mary Lou Perez, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Perez, Lake
Catalpa Road, enjoyed a party Sun-
day, June 27, to celebrate her sixth
Birthday.

Helen Sidler Enrolled
In Operation Headstart
Helen Sidler, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John Sidler, Lake-Lehman
School District, is enrolled in the
summer program Operation Head-
start. This is carried out under the
auspices of the Anti-Poverty Bill.
She will teach summer kinder-
garten in Roslyn. The program serv-
ices those children who will enter
first grade in the fall, but who for
lack of transportation facilities were
deprived of kindergarten experience
this past year.
Miss Sidler is a 1961 graduate of
Lake-Lehman and a January, 1965
graduate of Bloomsburg. Since Jan-
uary she has taught first grade in
a Roslyn school. In preparation for
her work in Operation Headstart,
she took two weeks of intensive
training at Temple University.
Northwest School District, Shick-
shinny, also has an Operation Head-
start, with close to one hundred
children enrolled.

Eastern Star Picnic
Committee Entertained
Mrs. Ziba Smith, Past Matron of
Dallas Chapter No. 396 Order of the
Eastern Star, was hostess to the
July 21st. Annual Family Picnic
Planning Committee at her Meadow
Lake Home last Thursday.
The hostesses selected for the
picnic to be at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Elwood Martin near Lake
Catalpa are Mrs. Anna Alt, co-chair-
man, Mrs. Laura Dymond, Mrs.
Emma Smith, and Mrs. Ethel Smith.
Members are requested to bring
covered dishes, place settings, and
their families.
Baked ham, beverage, barbecue,
and rolls will be prepared by the
committee and donations will be
taken at the picnic to defray the
cost.
Engineer Frank McKenna
Is With Coast Guard
Engineman Second Class Frank T.
McKenna, USCG, son of Mrs. Claice
McKenna of Route 1, Dallas, is serv-
ing aboard the Coast Guard medium
harbor tug Manitou, homeported at
Battery Park, N. Y.
The Manitou participated in
patrolling the 118-mile power boat
race June 13 between Albany, N. Y.
and Edgewater, N. J. Approximately
100 power boats participated in the
race.

Out on Hillside Road last week
the family of Robert Evans got a big
surprise when they went out to the
barn early one morning and found
a baby born to their pony. There
seems to have been no. suspicion of
the impending event and all are
wondering as to identity of the sire.
Robert Wagners Wed
19 Years On June 11
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wagner,
Carverton, will observe their 19th
wedding anniversary, Sunday June

ton.
Mrs. Wagner is the former Mary
Wolsskeil, daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. William Wolsskeil, Hazle-
ton.
Mr. Wagner is the son of Mrs.
Anna Siegfried, Sybersville.
Mrs. Wagner is a member of St.
Francis,, Cabrini. Mr. Wagner is
a member of the Methodist (Church.
He is retired.
There is one daughter, Patricia
Ann aged sixteen.
Ash Family Gathers
From Around Globe
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ash, Shaver-
town, and Mr. and Mrs, Doran Ash,
Bunker Hill, are entertaining mem-
bers of the Ash family from scat-
tered points around the globe.
Last weekend Byron Ash and
sons, Eric and Mark, arrived in New
York from Taipei and drove up to
Shavertown with his mother, Mrs.
S. M. Ash.
Over the July 4th holiday, Harold
and Mae were also joined by Ster-
ling Ash, New York City, who will
attend the 25th reunion of his grad-
uating class at Kingston High School
and Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Ash and
daughter Gail, Champagne, Illinois,
who will also visit friends and rela-
tives in the Back Mountain and
Wyoming * Valley.
Byron Ash, who is in charge of
Foremost Dairies in Taipei, will re-
main in the East for about a month
then fly to California. He will return
to his post in about two months,
getting a leave every three years.
A family picnic was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Doran Ash
on Monday in observance of the
84th birthday of Mrs. S. M. Ash,
who is in excellent health and fre-
quently drives from the metropolis
