So I close the | current diary on the report of the marvelous party they gave us last | Wednesday night, when they wel- | comed the Rev. James Williams as | regular pastor and his family. They | * took the occasion to do nice things for us, such as having two children | who had been most regular front- | seaters for my children’s stories de- liver to me the gifts that had been | selected. Shavertown Busy Days Saturday morning, we awoke to a nice dampening rain but the sun came out to make it a pleasant morning but I arose early to get in some porculaca and petunias since the soil was easy to work with. Although some of the fam- | ily attended the Horse Show and | parade, Fred and I had a busy time with my decision to close up the! sump, get grass seed planted and try and restore to some order that awful looking yard which has been ripped up since I came home fom the hospital. We suspect some un- derground drainage but will check source after the wedding is over, With a shower set for Sunday, time | is at a premium. As usual our firemen appeared | decked in their best with their | equipment spic and span for the Lehman parade. With a little rain- fall they might have a pleasant. re- spite from fire fighting. | Once again we are getting geared | for the Library Auction. Susie will | whip up some good fudge and Fred , has been soliciting new goods, to which there was a fine response. This is one of our favorite times of all the year and we hate to miss one minute of it. I would like to watch ‘the children’s auction this time for this is one phase I have missed and what is more delight- ful than to see the kiddies in action. Of course my sympathy always goes out to the ones who have limited means and want a particular item so badly. They perhaps appreciate it more than the others.
