NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that
the Interim Operating Committee of
the Lake-Lehman School District,
under the authority granted by the
provisions of Act 481, of the Gen-
eral Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania approved June 25,
1947, PL. 1145, and its amend-
ments, has authorized its secretary
to give notice of the intention of
the aforesaid Interim Operating
Committee to pass a resolution for
general revenue purposes, at an ad-
journed meeting of the Interim Op-
erating Committee to be held at
8:00 PM. ED.T, on Tuesday, June
29, 1965, at the Lehman Elementary
School Buildings, Lehman, Pennsyl-
vania, to levy, assess and .collect
or provide for the levying, assess-
ment and collection of a tax ‘of
ten (10%) per cent upon the
amount charged for admissions to
any place of amusement within the
Tox ips of Jackson, Lake, Leh-
man and Ross, Luzerne County,
Pennsylvania, and the Township of
Noxen, Wyoming County, Pennsyl-
vaniggasaid transfer tax to be im-
posed“ itor the reason of providing
revenue for the payment of manda-
tory teacher salary increments and
other rising school costs, it being |.
estimated that three thousand three
hundred thirty ($3,330.00) dollars
in revenue will be derived from the
tax for the fiscal school year of

Committee to be held at 8:00 P.M.,

lection of a per capita school tax
in the amount of five ($5.00) dol-
lars upon each person of the age of
twenty-one years or over residing
within the limits of the Townships
of Jackson, Lake, Lehman and Ross,
Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, and
the Township of Noxen, Wyoming
County, Pennsylvania, said per
capita school tax to be imposed for
the reason of providing revenue for
the payment of mandatory teacher
salary increments and other rising
school costs, it being estimated that
ele thousand one hundred fifty
($115Y50.00) dollars will be derived
frong the tax for the fiscal school
year Jof 1965-66.

The Interim Operating Committee
of the Lake-Lehman School District
hereby gives notice that a proposed
“budget of the amount of funds that
will be required by the School Dis-
trict in its several departments for
the 1965-66 fiscal year is available
for public inspection at the Office
of the Secretary, Lehman Elemen-
tary School, Lehman, Pennsylvania.
Tt is the purpose of the Interim
Operating Committee of the Lake-
Lehman School District to adopt
this proposed budget after making
such revisions in it as are deemed
advisable and levy the proposed
taxes at a meeting to be held Tues-
day, June 29, 1965, at 8:00 P.M., at
an adjourned meeting of the In-
terim Operating Committee, Lehman
Elementary School, Lehman, Penn-
sii
' Notice is also given of the pro-
visions of Act 193, approved June
30, 1951 (P.L. 962), requiring every
resident or inhabitant of the School
District upon attaining the age of
twenty-one years and every person
twenty-one years of age or over be-
coming a resident or inhabitant of
the District to notify the proper
assessor of this fact within twelve
months thereafter. Failure to com-
ply with this requirement subjects
the individual to a penalty equal
to the tax for which he is liable.
The Assessor's name and address
for Jackson Township, Lake Town-
ship, Lehman Township and Ross
Township is Luzerne County Assess-
ors, Assessors’ Office, Court House,
Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The
name and address for the Assessor
of Noxen Township is Wyoming
County Assessors’ Office, Wyoming
County Court House, Tunkhannock,
Pennsylvania.
