Tiss Huttenstine. A smorgasboard

| they attended a luncheon, and
later heard a speech by Dr. Edwin
Stasek, on Mental Health as con-
cerned with the younger generation.
Awards were presented to the fol-
| lowing newspapers: Forty Fort, first |
place, G.A.R., second place, and |
Lake-Lehman High School,
place.
The Lake-Lehman Baseball Team
remained undefeated in the West-
ern Division by winning over Dallas
and Luzerne. On April 29, the
| team defeated Dallas, 8 to 7 in 10
innings, with hits by Dorne White,
and Bob Kunkle. Ed Kern was the
winning pitcher in relief.
On May 3, the team played Lu-
zerne High School. Lake-Lehman
wag slated to lose, but with the
hitting of Ray Scott,” Bob Kunkle,
Dorne White and Howard Ellsworth,
the Knights won, 3 to 2.

Mrs. George May and Mrs. Ros-
well Frederici were hostesses to
Confidence Class at the May home
on Tuesday night. A committee of
Mrs. Elmer Harris, Mrs. Ralph
Welsh, Mrs. Herbert Ward and Mrs.
Robert Bonning were appointed to
plan for the picnic. A white ele-
phant sale was held. Present be-
sides the hostess were Mesdames
Ralph Antrim, Hope Ide, Ralph
Welsh, Herbert Ward, William Gel-
sleichter, Niles White, James Bar-
all, Elmer Harris, Bruce Williams,
Vivian Rinken, Dean Shaver; Ruth
third | Walters, Bess Cooke.
‘Weekend visitors at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. John Sutton of Trox-
ell Switch were Mr. and Mrs. John
Ide, Philadelphia, Minnie Sutton,
Shavertown, Rev. and Mrs. George
Lockwood and family of Bainbridge,
NY
Rev. Winfield Kelly presided at
the Official Board meeting held in
the Church house Saturday night.
Henry Bergstrasser and Herbert
Ward gave a report of their week-
end at Buck Hill Falls, also at the
Sunday morning worship service.
Present at this meeting beside Rev.
Kelley were Mrs. Kenneth Cal-
kins, Alfred Swelgin, Reginald Beck,
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Williams, Hen-
ry - Bergstrasser, Edward Powell,
Mrs. Dean Shaver, Mrs. Emory
Hadsel and Bess Cooke.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Ward at-
tended the funeral of Mr. Ward's
brother-in-law last week at Haddon
Heights, N. J.
To Install Officers
Westmoreland P.T.A. will meet in
the school auditorium on Monday
evening, May 17, at 8. Installation
of - officers will be held: president,
Mrs. George ‘Shaver, Jr.; vice-pres-
ident, George Stolarick; secretary,
Mrs. Harrison Cook and treasurer,
Mrs. Ray Henney. Retiring officers
are: president, Mrs. A. Curtis Ed-
wards; vice-president, William Reid;
secretary, Mrs. Paul Kunkle; and
treasurer, Mrs. Charles James.
Refreshments will be served by
the 5th and 6th grade mothers fol-
lowing the business meeting, with
Mrs. Fred Stevens, hospitality chair-
man.
