Funeral of Mrs. Ella E. Hennin-
ger, who died Saturday morning at
her home on Druid Hills Drive,
Shavertown, was held Tuesday from
a Forty Fort funeral home. Rev.
Robert D. Yost officiated, with bur-
ial at Fern Knoll.
A resident of Shavertown since
1941, Mrs. Henninger was a mem-
ber of Shavertown Methodist
Church, its WSES’ and Keller Bi-
ble Class, and represented its wom-
.en in the Wyoming Valley Council
of Churches. She was also a mem-
ber of Back Mountain Branch, Nes-
bitt ' , Memorial Hospital Auxiliary,
and Auxiliary of Dallas... Kiwanis
Club.
Born in Raymond, Ind., daughter
of William and ‘Ella McCord
O'Byrne. she was a graduate of Mi-
ami (Ohio) University

Oak Hill resident who died April
29, was held Monday from Snow-
den Funeral Home, Kingston, Rev.
Robert D. Yost officiating, with bur-

Mr. Jacquish, comptroller for Sor-
Enterprises, had* suffered ‘a
heart attack in January. He died
enroute to the hospital after. an-
other attack at his home Thursday
night.
Born in Larksville, he was edu
cated at Wyoming Seminary Busi-
ness College and lived in Wyoming
Valley most of his life.

St. Paul's Lutheran Chueh had
its beginning in the early months
| of 1925 ‘following a survey made |
in the Back Mcuntain: region in the |
fall of 1924. The first service was
held in the 'Shavértown School.
Building March 15, 1925. Formal |

born with 29 members.
The late Rev. Dr. Russell W. Stine
served until Rev. G. Elsen Ruff,
now Editor of “The Lutheran,” be-
came the first pastor, June 13,
1926.
The erection of a church building
at Main and Franklin Streets, was
begun October 8, 1925,
service was held in the new sdj
| tuary, February 14, 1926, and |
church building was i
March 21, 1926.
With the growth of the congre-
gation, it became necessary to en-
large the church building to previde
better educational facilities in 1951 -
and again in 1955. Ground was
educational units on
October 23 and Rededication took
place May 6, 1956.
The congregation now numbers
more than 600 and has grown
steadily under the leadership of Rev.
Frederic. H. Eidam., who accepted
the pastorate in©1952.
For the fortieth anniversary the
y octal rooms have been redeccrated
to fit in with the contemporary
style chancel which was installed
in 1956.
St.. Paul's Lutheran Church is a
member of the Secranton-Wilkes-
Barre District of the Eastern Pa.
Synod of the Lutheran Church in
America.

Suffering a heart attack while
operating a tractor, Crawford (g
| Wandel, 65, Ross Township, was
able to shut off the motor before

collapsing. He was found dead on
the ground nearby.
Son of the late Chatfield and
Keziah Sutliff Wandel, he was born
| in. ‘Ross Township and lived there
| all his life.
He attended Bloom-
ingdale Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow, the for-
mer Lillian Farver; daughters, Mrs.
Hazel Lynn. Hunlock Creek; Mrs.
Helen Headeler, Wapwallopen; Mrs.
Harriet Pearson, Plymouth; Mrs.
Mary Alice Lanning, DePew, N. Y.,
