Philip Walter has resided in the
township for the past nine years
and is anxious to bring about many
improvements in one of the largest
townships in the area.

for six years of active duty and four
years in the Reserves.

Well, anyway, you see how I feel |
and I'm not going to write any- |
thing about this rubbish in The Dal- |
las Post simply because Dallas Post
readers are not rubbish-tossers-out-
of-cars ‘and ‘it would not do any |
good to tell them about the littering
public. How does one get the ear |
or eye of people who drink while
riding out where Nature lives?
Last Thursday I was on my way
home from Valley Crest and had to
stop in Exeter to officiate at a fu-
neral home. But I was early -- and
sleepy (as I always am after meals!) |
So I pulled to the curb along Wyo-
ming avenue and thought I'd go
over the funeral service in the
quiet of the traffic for a few min- |
utes. But my eyes dropped shut,
heard someone at my elbow asking
me if I felt all right. For the mo-
ment as I glimpsed the uniformed
officer at my window I thought it
was Mike Skubic, chief security of- |
ficer at Valley Crest! But it was an |
alert Wyoming cop taking note of
a figure at the wheel who looked |
kinda ‘slumped. I thanked him and
told him I was fine. How much
just that much sleep perks me up! |
Much better to have the car parked |
than moving at such a time. No,
that wasn’t due to my age. I've
always taken forty winks after
lunch if possible. Used to do it
during recitations in Prof. Gillott’s
Greek class 50 years ago. That was
far more dangerous than in a
parked car on the Avenue. I might
have been callad on to translate the
next line in Greek!
