Sol Schleicher, 61, resident of
New Goss Manor, was stricken with
a fatal heart attack Monday at his |

Native Of Poland
Dies In Carverten
‘Mrs. Victoria Histolski, Carverton,
native of Poland, died Saturday
morning at the home of her daugh-
ter, Mrs. Alphy Martin, Carverton.
She was buried at Mt. Olivet
Tuesday morning following a Mass
of Requiem celebrated at St. Fran-
ces of Cabrini Church.
Her parents were the late Mr.
and Mrs. John Pointek. She came
| to this country as a girl, settling
in Pittston. She and her husband
Frank operated a grocery stere and
dance hall. Frank died five years
ago.
|. For the past thirty years, Mrs.
| Histolki operated a dairy farm at
| Carverton. In 1950, she sold a
portion of her acreage to the Scran-
ton Diocese, for establishment cf
Mt. Olivet Cemetery and St. Frances
of Cabrini Church. Recently, another
part was. sold to the government
for Frances Slocum State Park.
She leaves, in addition to her
daughter, three daughters, all of
Carverton: Mrs. Anthony Yaglcwski, |
Mrs. Stephen Lawrences, and Mrs.
William Murray; sons: Frank. Stan-
ley, Edward and John, all of Carver-
ton; Henry, West Wyoming; 31
grandchildren and four greatgrand-
| children.

ed Saturday, at Dallas Methodist
Church at noon for first grade pupils.

is a native of Boston, Mass. He re-
ceived his B.A. from Stone Hill Un-
iversity did his Graduate work in
Theolczy at Gregoorian University
in Rome, and was ordained there.

with Father Cohen offering the

The first Conference will begin at

Joseph Hoyt, 84, Is
Buried At Beaumont
Joseph Hoyt, 84, was buried in
Beaumont Cemetery Monday after-
noon, Rev. Lyle Peterson officiating
from the Nulton Funeral Home.
Mr. Hoyt died Friday afternoon
at Danville State Hospital, where he
had been admitted January 4.
He was son of Levi and Dacy
Hoover Hoyt, of Beaumont. He was
a retired farmer.
He leaves his widow, the former
Pansy Denmon; sors: John, Harveys
Lake, Allen, New Britain, Con., and
Cletus, Clarks Summit; daughters,
Mrs. Marjorie Clark, Waverly, N.Y;
‘Mrs. Russell Newell and Marie Hoyt,
both of Noxen, Mrs. Iris Beck, Bris-
tol; Mrs. Lois Ransom Nicholson,
and Mrs. Rita Chaplin, Dallas; 31
grandchildren; brother, Ralph Hoyt,
Kunkle, and sister, Mrs. Laura La-
Barr, Dallas. Another sister. Mrs.
Carrie Martin of Kunkle, died Feb-
ruary 24.

Their “Avntie Mame"
“Auntie Mame’s’ porch was al-
ways crowded with children during
the many years when she lived on
Pinecrest Avenue, and her kitchen
was always warm, aromatic ‘with
cookies baking, and doughnuts cool-
ing.
When Auntie Mame moved to
Tunkhannock Highway several
years ago, the children felt deprived.
Mrs. Marion Shaver Brobst, 60,
died Friday afternoon at Nanticoke
State Hospital. She was buried
Tuesday morning at Memorial
Shrine, following services conducted
by Rev. Rcbert Sheehan from the
Disque Funeral Home.
She had been incapacitated for
a long time. Norti, Berti, the week
before his own death, helped carry
the stretcher to the ambulance when
she suffered her first stroke.
Mrs. Brobst was the former
Marion Shaver, native and life-long
resident of Dallas, daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Shaver.
She graduated from ‘Dallas High
School in the class of 1923.
She was a member of Dallas
Methodist Church. :
Surviving are: her husband Clin-
ton; children: Harold and Clinton
Jr., both of Dallas; Charles, Shaver-
town; Eugene, Trucksville; Herbert,
El Paso, Texas. ; 3
