Bnna Mae Richards
Dies After Illness
Anna Mae Richards, Plymouth,
was laid to rest Wednesday after-
noon with services conducted by
Rev. Thomas L. Maher, pastor of
the" Pilgrim Congregation Church,
burial was in Forty Fort Cemetery.
‘Miss Richards died at Bit-Mar
Nursing Home, Plymouth on Mon-
day.
A in Plymouth, daughter of
; ate Daniel and Mary Richards,
she started her teaching career in
1893. Graduating from Bloomsburg,
she taught in Dorranceton until the
Plymouth High School was
built. There she became principal
of the Junior High School, retiring
in: 1942.
She and a fellow tenchior built
the house now occupied by Livings-
ton Clewell on Pioneer Avenue and
lived there for several years.
She was a member of the Retired
Teachers Association, the Cambrian
Club, and the First Welsh Congre-
gational Church of Plymouth.
She ig survived by a niece, Mrs.
Robert VanHorn, Dallas, and a
nephew, Paul Jones of Plmouth.
Native 0f Bowmans
Creek Dies At 92
Mrs. Sarah Crispell Smith, 92,
died Tuesday morning at Valley
Crest. ‘She was buried Wednesday
aos at Orcutt Cemetery, the
final, gathering place of a. wide-
fl family of Crispells.
e was born at Bowmans, Creek,
daughter of Severn and Eunice Har-
ris Crispell, and educated in the
one room school near her home.
Upon marriage to’/Charles H. Smith,
she moved to Larksville, to Noxen,
and back again to Larksville. Her
husband died 25 years ago.
Of the seven children born to the
couple, only two survive: Mrs.
Arthur Symons, Larksville, and Mrs.
Calvin Stevens, Newark Valley, N.Y.,
there are seven grandchildren, nine
greatgrandchildren, brothers: Elmer
Crispell, Noxen, Albert and George,
St. Petersburg, Fla.; Rev. Floyd
Crispell, Ocean Grove; step-brother,
William C. Race, and step-sister
Mrs. Ray Wilson, both of Noxen.

Mountain area, Kingston and Nanti-
coke.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was
thé son of Daniel and Ruth Thomas
Evans. He was the nephew of Mrs.
Richard Jones, ‘Shavertown, and
the late John H. Thomas, who. or-
ganized Daddow Isaacs Post at
Dallas.
Also surviving in addition to his
parents, are his wife, the former
Alma Vosburg, Wyoming; sons, Rob-
ert, Daniel and Richard; a sister,
Mrs. Margaret Hughes, Sidney, N.Y.,
and an aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Watt,
Wi ss-Barre.

terment in - Memorial Shrine
Cemetery.
Mrs. Ruth G. Cairl
Mrs. Ruth Garrshan Cairl, native
and former resident of Dallas, res-
ident of Upper Darby for many
years, died Thursday at noon. Burial
was Monday afternoon at Valley
Forge Gardens.
A number of local people attend-
ed services, including her niece,
Mrs. Ross Lewin, Florence E. Black-
more, and Mrs. Viola Schmassman,
her sisters-in-law. The entire fam-
ily was present, including eight
grandchildren and two greatgrand-
children.
Her parents were the late Mr.
