When your puppy’s teeth pen-
etrate either of these he may
be knocked unconscious.
Since this is a fairly common
occurrence, it's well to be
familiar with emergency first
aid treatment. -
If it’s a slight shock and the
puppy is only momentarily
dazed, he'll probably recover
in a short time himself, If it’s
a serious shock, he may have
to be given artificial respira-
tion, be lowered into a tub of
cold water or given a few
whiffs of ammonia. But act

Mr. and Mrs. Clifford J. Ide, 152
Parrish Street, Dallas, will celebrate
their 50th wedding anniversary on
Sunday, February 28.
The couple was married at Le-
hman on February 24, 1915, by the
late Rev. Egbert Kilpatrick. Mrs.
Ide is the former Goldie Brown,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Walter E. Brown, Lehman. Her
husband is the son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. James W. Ide, Lehman.
They are the parents of one son,

The County bonded indebtedness now stands at $1,315,000.00 which is 5.58 mills
of the real estate valuation.

fiscal year. Personal property taxes furnished 5.53 per cent, liquid fuels tax 13.6%
per cent, grant and gifts, 5.89 per cent, and departmental earnings 10.51 per cent.
The remaining 9.30 per cent was made up of licenses, fines, rentals of equipment,
sales of properties and supplies, and miscellaneous.
Administrative operations cost 38.51 per cent of the County expenditures for the
year. Judicial 16.31 per cent, Corrections 15.05 per cent, Highways 11.03 per cent,
Capital Outlay 4.43 per cent, Interest 1.76 per cent, Bonds Matured 5.41 per cent, and
Miscellaneous 7.50 per cent.
Tax Rate for the County on Real Estate — 10.5 mills.
Tax Rate for the County on Personal Property — 4.00 mills.

DALLAS LOSES
The Dallas High School cagers,
forced to play for the first time in
eight years in the matchbox Ashley-
Sugar Notch gym Tuesday evening,
came out on the short end of a re-
cord shattering 116-90 score. Since
there was no room for the boys to
set up an offense, it ‘was a case of
run and shoot with defense thrown
to the wind. Led by fabulous Dave
Troiani’s 42 points, the Rockets con-
nected on 60 per cent of their shots
while Dallas was shooting well at a
40 per cent pace.

Valentine Party
The Saturday Morning Girls’ Fun
Club at the Back Mountain Branch
YMCA, will have a Valentine Party
on Saturday, February 13. Each
girl will make a Valentine for the
party, and a prize will be awarded
for the best creation. :
At its meeting on Saturday, Feb
ruary 6, the girls sang Happy Birth-
day to Karen ‘and Kathy Karuza.
Karen celebrated her brithday on
January 30, Kathy's big day came
on February 4. Patricia Hauck a
new member of the Back YMCA
Girls’ Fun Club gave an original
grace before lunch. We would
like to thank those who assisted
with the program, Karen Kitchen,
Debbie Bessmer, Mrs. Richard Shel-

Valley, celebrated their sixty-second
anniversary ‘on Friday, February 5.
There are two daughters: Mrs.
Francis Eustice, Kingston, and Mrs.
Willard Sutliff, Bloomingdale and
Florida. There are six grandchildren
and five great grandchildren,
They were married by Rev. John
Phillips, in the Presbyterian Manse,
Binghamton, N. Y.
