MISS SALLYE HIGGINS
Miss Sallye Higgins will speak at
Glenview Primitive Methodist
Church in Fernbrook, Sunday morn-
ing and evening. In the evening
service she will show colored slides
of her work in Tanganyika,
known as Tanzania. Miss Higgins
has been working in Tanzania for |
twenty-seven years under the Africa
Inland Mission, founded by a young
man, Petér Cameron Scott, in 1895.
Since that time, both the Mission |

Dies At Her Home
In New Goss Manor
For the past ten years, Mrs.
Emma C. Magee, 72, lived in Dallas.
Sunday night she died at her home
in New Goss Manor, after a short
illness. ¢
Born in Philadelphia, daughter of
Andrew and Jane Gifear Berkel-
bach, she lived in Forty Fort and
Kingston before moving to the Back
Mountain.
She and her husband George ob-
served their 52nd wedding anni-
versary in August.
She retained membership in First
Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre,
and belonged to Wilkes-Barre
Ladies of Kiwanis.
She leaves, in addition to her
husband, one granddaughter. Her
daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Smith, died
two years ago.
Rev. Dr. Roy E. Williams offi-
ciated yesterday at funeral services.
Burial was at Fern Knoll.

Born In Honduras
Born in the Hénduras before the
Spanish American War and the con-
struction of the Panama Canal,
David R. Davies, 74, living in the
Outlet section for the past ten
years, died Friday night at General
Hospital after a short illness.
He was buried Tuesday afternoon
in Kocher Cemetery, following serv-
ices conducted by ‘Rev. Frederick
Eidam, pastor ‘of St. Paul's’ Luther-
an - Church, from the Bronson Fu-
neral Home. .
Masonic services were held Mon-
day night.
His parents were David and Mary
Davies. Bertha Williams, a Har-
veys Lake resident, is his. widow.
There is a son, Paul, Texas, and a
sister, Mrs. Jennie Ahlborn, Isla-
morada; Florida.
Over /the years, Mr. and Mrs.
Davies brought up sixty foster sons,
three of whom are still in residence.
During. the almost half century in
Philadelphia, Mr.
active part in Masonic affairs, be-
longing to the Perkins Lodge 402
F&AM, and the Philadelphia Con-
sistory. He was supervisor of
cashiers at the Philadelphia Rapid
Transist Company. 3

ing at 9 in St. John’s Church, Ed-
wardsville, “with burial at Fern
Knoll.
Mrs. Mazur died Sunday morning
just before daybreak, at the home
of her daughter Mrs. Ignatius Koz-
emchak, Overbrook Road, after an
illness.
As a young woman, she came to

in 1899, settling in Catasauqua. A
