Jackson Supervisors
(Continued from page -A-1)
November 1st. A citizen brought up
the question of a $10 Occupational
or Right to Work Tax for Jackson
Township, similar to the tax now
imposed by Wilkes-Barre, his point
being that everyone working in
Jackson Township should pay the
‘ tax, thus giving the township ad-
ditional money to run its affairs.
Solicitor said he was checking into
the matter.
Another citizen asked the su-
penviscrs to pass an ordinance re-
suiring persons raising cattle or pigs
to confine same to their own prop-
erty and not have them run loose
along the public. highway, as they
create a menace to motorists and
damage the roads. Supervisors pro-
mised to look into the matter.
Several citizens asked why the
Township was not taking advantage
of the money available under the
Accelerated Public Works Program
of the Federal Government. They
were advised by the Supervisors
that they had looked into the poss-
iblity of obtaining some of this
money, but at present, the Federal
Fund was exhausted. A complaint
was made as to the condition of the |
roads in Chase Manor, that same
should be fixed before Winter sets ;
