Alderson Methodist Sunday School
on August 29. Games were played

Mrs. Margaret Jones, Pioneer
Avenue, was buried Friday after-
- noon in Dennison Cemetery, fol-
lowing services conducted by Rev.

Congregational Church, from a
Plymouth funeral chapel.
Mrs. Jones, wife of Evan M.
Jones, died Tuesday morning
September 1 at General Hospital,
where she had been admitted two
days earlier as a medical patient.
A native of Plymouth, the form-
‘er Margaret Jones was daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Jones. ‘She
was a member of Welsh Congrega-
tional Church. ‘
She leaves in addition to her
husband, two sisters: Mrs. Rose
King, Wilkes-Barre; and Mrs.
Thomas R. Evans, Kingston.
Sudden Death For
Fairmount Couple
The community was saddened to
hear of the sudden death of a Fair-
mount Township couple, elderly
people who had moved to Pleasant
Valley not too long ago, buying the
former Wiant Museum building.
Raymond Heffernan and his wife
Irene were killed when their car
crashed into a tree three miles
west of

Mr. and Mrs. George Shaver, Jr.,
E. Overbrook Ave. entertained
Sunday afternoon at a cook-out.
Their son, George “Skip” Shaver
returned home on Thursday from
three weeks in Nesbitt Hospital
where he submitted to surgery for
a bleeding ulcer. A group of young
people from the Pioneer Youth Club
called on him and enjoyed the cook-
out. They were Rev. Paul Jones,
Betty Fine; Alverta Barnand; Ray
Dymond; Jack Wise; Gail Kline-
smith; other callers were: Howard
Spray, Don Lake, Elaine Garnett
and Carol Spray.
