Back Mountain Wins Ist All-Star
Game After Tight
Mark Rogers out-dueled J. Kenia
in a great pitching battle last Wed-
nesday at Duryea, and gained Back
Mountain its initial win in Little
League All-Star competition.
Only two players reached first
base against Rogers - a bunt single
by Clarke in the fourth inning, and
Morris on an error in the fifth. Ro-
gers stsuck out eight batters and
did not walk any.
Kenia gave up only three hits,
two infield by Miller and Ruckno
and a lead-off double by Bellas, and
struck out nine with no walks.
Only run of the game came “in
the third inning when lead-off bat-
ter Jimmy Miller beat out a bunt
down the first base line and raced
all the way to third when catcher
Anderieka threw the bail into right
field. With one out, Bellas grounded
to third baseman Martinelli who
threw him out at first, but on the
throw Miller broke for the plate
“and slid in under the tag.
