go surgery, today.

Dietz, the former's sister. The en-
tire group saw Gary Dietz graduate
from Officers Candidate Training
School at Fort Benning.

Marilyn Hean flew from Warwick,
R. I, to visit the former's parents,

town. Mrs. ‘Strittmatter’s son,

with his grandmother, Mrs. Jennie
Strittmatter, Wilkes-Barre. Mr.
Strittmatter is general manager of
' Radio Station WICE, Providence,
R. I. He will join his family for
the holiday weekend.

singer Hospital, where he was a
medical patient last week.

Swire-LaBar Nuptials Held
At Sweet Valley June 20

Christ, Sweet Valley.
Mrs. Warren Montross, Noxen,
played the wedding music and
Sharon Montross sang “I Love You
Truly,” “Because,” and “The Wed-
ding Prayer.”
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a floor length gown
of chantilly lace and nylon, styled
with tight bodice, sweetheart neck-
line edged with pearls and irides-
cents, full bouffant skirt and long
tight sleeves tapered at the wrist.
Her elbow length veil of French il-
lusion fell from a coronet of pearls

and sequins and she carried a cas--
cade bouquet of white carnations
and lilies of the valley. She wore
a single strand of aurora borealis,
gift of the bridegroom. -
Matron of honor, Sandra Shaw,
sister of the bride, Sweet Valley,
selected an ice blue floor length
organza over crystalette - taffeta,
with scooped neckline and puffed
sleeves. Her head piece was an ice
blue trara with pearls and face veil.
She carried a colonial boupuet
of yellow carnations with blue
streamers.
Bridesmaids were Patricia Chris-
tian, sister of the bride, Canadenses’
and Phyllis Swire, sister-in-law of
the bride, Hunlock Creek, who
chose knee length pink nylon over
taffeta gowns, with long sleeves,
scooped neckline, fitted bodice and
full skirt. They' wore pink tiaras
trimmed with pearls and matching
pink face veils. They carried iden-
tical colonial bouquets of green car-

Stanley Culp
An Open House to mark the oc-
casion of Stanley Culp’s eightieth
birthday was held at his home on
Sunday, June 21, between the hours
of 2 pm. and 7 p.m., during which
time many relatives and friends
Junior bridesmaids, Joyce Swire,
sister of the bride and Margaret
| Swire, cousin of the bride, Noxen,
| wore identical gowns in yellow with
| matching headpieces. Their co-
| lonial bouquets were blue carna-
| tions with yellow streamers.
| Fiower girls Kathy Ann Christian,
niece of the bride, Theresa LaBar,
sister of the bridegroom, both wore
matching dresses of Nile green ny-
lon lace over taffeta with ntred
bodice and full skirts. Their head
pieces were white flowers over Nile
green net and carried baskets filled
with pink carnations and green rib-
bon. Each attendant wore a single
strand of pearis, a gift from the
bride.
Best man was Gary R. Shaw, Sr.,
brother-in-law of the bride, Sweet
Valley and ushers were Thomas R.
Swire, Hunlock Creek, brother of
the bride and Wayne Swire, Noxen,
cousin of the bride.
Junior ushers were George Swire,
Sweet Valley and Renford Swire,
Noxen, both cousins of the bride.
Ring bearer was William Swire,
Hunlock Creek, nephew of the bride.
The bride’s mother wore a two
piece light blue lace suit with pink
accessories, and a shoulder bouquet
of pink carnations. Mrs. LaBar,
mother of the groom, wore a navy
blue dress, with white accessories |
and a corsage of red carnations.
Following the ceremony, a recep-
tion was held in the church parlors,
and the couple left on a honeymoon
to the Pocono Mountains.
Mrs. LaBar attended Lake-Leh-
man High School. Mr. LaBar is
employed by Central Pennsylvania

For Bess Klinetob
Bess Klinetob, Pikes Creek, whose
birthday occurred on June 14, was
honored at several dinners during
the week. On June 11, she was a
guest of several friends at a lunch-
eon at the Huntsville Methodist
Church. During the afternoon she

day as the guest of Mrs. Marjorie

On June 13, the honoree was en-
tertained at dinner at Steele’s Res- *
taurant by Misses Ida and Olwen
Rosser, Kingston.. On June 14,
cousin Mr. and Mrs. George Grant,
Sr., Berwick, arrived with a large
birthday cake and were the guests
of Miss Klinetob for the day. Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Tworek, Pikes
Creek, had Bess as their dinner
guest on Monday evening, and Mrs.
Grace Goodwin, Lake Silkworth and
Ruth Anstett, Loyalville, honored
her on Tuesday at the ‘Goodwin
