Named Counselor
Mary A. Knecht, Harveys Lake
RD 1, a sophomore at Bucknell Uni-
versity, has been named to serve
as a junior counselor at the Uni-
versity next year.
She is one of 17 women chosen
by her classmates and the Dean of
Women’s staff to serve as advisors
to co-eds living in the freshman
resident halls. These counselors are
selected for their leadership ability
and understanding.
Miss Knecht is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James J. Knecht, RD
1, Harveys Lake. She is studying
for her bachelor of arts degree.

provide two $800 scholarships for
qualified 4-H Club members who
will be college freshmen next fall.
The announcement comes from the
National 4-H ‘Service (Committee.
The two grants are restricted to 15
states.
Candidates for the scholarships
will be screened by the Cooperative
Extension Service, Applications
should be made now for final
judging after October 20. Winners
will be announcéd the first week
in December .
