As Jacobs is only a sophomore, his coach, Dwight “Scul- ly”’ Scandrett, has high hopes for him in the next two years. As a! freshman last year, Jacobs won his numerals in wrestling and crew. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Jacobs of 164 North Pioneer Avenue, Shavertown, and is a 1961 graduate of Dallas Senior High School and spent a year in the Philippines as a foreign exchange student. Robert started making maple syr- up last year and is again tapping the maples, extracting the delicious syrup which he boils down night and day in a copper kettle over a brick fireplace he himself erected. His dad tells us that it takes 40 {gallons of juice to obtain one gal- lon of syrup.:On Sunday he and hig parents took a ride to Sullivan County where they visited two ma- ple sugar plants in that area.
