Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lasher en-
tertained the latter's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Herman Kern and daugh-
ter Jean, at 11 o'clock breakfast,

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Valentine,
Auburndale, Fla., were very happy
to receive a telephone call from
son Bob Pickett, and family Christ-
mas morning. Made Picketts happy
too. :
~ Long distance calls are wonder-
fu! on these special days. I know,
because at 12:01 Christmas morn-
ing, I was thrilled by a call from
my son George (Bud), and his wife
Beverly, Buffalo. Their oldest
daughter was recovering from blood
poison in her hand, due to a scratch
from a scissors. Their baby has an
otherwise all
i children were well and
ger for Santa's visit. Beverly is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wiley
Weitch, Claude Street, Dallas.
~~ Elaine May Armstrong, while
visiting her sister Charlotte (Mrs.
Woody) Redmond, Orange, upset
their plans by coming down with
the measles. That's one way of
having an extended visit.
Last year Holly Moore was born
to Bob and Hilda Moore on Christ-
mas eve; changing their plans. This
~ year son Keith changed their plans
by getting mumps.

Sunday School, held their Christ-
mas party in the church social
room, Saturday afternoon. The
children were thrilled when Santa
arrived with bells jingling a happy
entrance; handing out gifts. Santa
had as much fun as they did, I
know because I was engulfed in
the red suit. Don’t tell them.

Susan Larish, a student at Kutz-
town State College, is ill at her
home on Ransom Road.
Cindy Dymond; a student at
Wilkes-Barre Business College, has
been ill also at her home in Orange.
Mz. and Mrs. Frank Zarno and
family were holiday guests of sister
Mrs: Robert (Rose) Jones and
family in Orange.
Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Dickson,
Martz Road, entertained at a family
reunion dinner, Sunday, December
22, which was also a farewell, for
their son Pfc. Leslie, who had to
be back on his marine base in
Virginia, by midnight Christmas.
Present were Mr. and Mrs. Darryl
Dickson, Lyons, N. J.; Mr. and Mrs.
Drew Daniels and Freddy, Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Schmidle, Nancy and
Tommy Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Spudis, Beverly and Leslie Dickson,
and parents.
Carolyn and Robert Spudis are
residing in an apartment on the
Martz estate.
Myra Carlin has returned to her
home on Ransom Road after spend-
ing a few days at Snowshoe to
celebrate Christmas with her
brother Raymond and: family.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Krick; Rob-
ert Jr., and Sharon, Reading, are
visiting ‘Mrs. Irene Moore for a
couple of days.

submitting to surgery in General
Hospital.
Rev. and Mrs. Andrew Derrick,
Demunds Road, spent Christmas
Day visiting in the Triple Cities,
New York. Their son and daugh-
ter-in-law and family, Mr. and
Mrs. Andrew Derrick, Jr. and
daughters: Cynthia and Cheryl are
spending a few days with the
Derricks.
Glenview P.M. Church will hold
a New Year's service on Tuesday
evening starting at 9. From 9
until 10° will’ be a service, 10
until’ 11 refreshments will be
served, and 11 until 12, com-
munion.
Mrs. Ira Button, E. Overbrook
Avenue, and her son Rev. Lewis
Button of Berwick motored to E.
Stroudsburg on Monday to visit,
Mrs. Alice Button Stewart, who is
a 'patient in General Hospital, E.
Stroudsburg, where she sub-
mitted’ to surgery. Mrs. Button
then spent the Christmas holidays
with her son and family in Ber-
wick.

Gary Smith, student at Worces-
ter Polytechnic Institute, is spend-
ing the holidays with his father,
Garvin Smith.
Mary Kuchta, teacher at Lake-
wooed, N. J. is spending the holi-
days with her mother Mrs. Mary
RKuchta. On Sunday, dinner guests
at the Kuchta home were: Mr. and
Mrs, Mike Kuchta of Clarks Sum-
mit, George Kuchta of Harrisburg,
Mary and Andrew Kuchta. Johnny
Kuchta of Shickshinny visited his
mother on: Saturday evening.
Our Christmas day vas a happy
one with a little granddaughter to
crjoy it with us. Al~ert, and I,
and my mother Mrs. Jessie Garin-
ger. who was 84 last week, had
Christmas dinner in Kingston with
my daughter Jessie Beckerman and
family. In the afternoon they
came here and had supper with us.

tions of carols. Sheldon Ehret Jr.
played a number of carols on his
trumpet. Rev. Kenneth O'Neal,
guest speaker, told of the three
gifts given by the Three Wise Men.
Luncheon was served by Mr. and |
Mrs. Lester Squier and Mr. and
Mrs. Morton Connelly. The class
gave gifts to Mr. Squier and John
Sidler, their teachers.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hoover,
and sons Terry and Jerry, drove
from Wilmington. Delaware, and
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hoover and
Linda, North Plainfield, New
Jersey, to attend their Uncle Per-
ry’s funeral recently. They also
visited their parents Mr. and Mrs. |
Arthur Hoover.
