Church League
At Season’s opening: The 1964
Church League basketball season
was off and running the weekend
of December 7 as Harveys Lake,
Trucksville, and East Dallas turned
in wins at Dallas High School. The
League seems to have more balance
than past years, especially with
newcomer Trucksville,
Alderson vs. Shavertown
Alderson was able to put 4 of
its players in double figures Sat-
urday night as they coasted to their
second straight win. Gene Brobst
led the defending champions over
'Shavertown Methodist with 22
points. Aldergon’s 69 points was a
single game high for the season.
Shavertown, hampered by the ab-
sence of Bob Hontz, was led by
Dymond with 18 points.

The final game of the evening
featured the leagues newest en-
try, Trucksville, against Huntsville
Christian. Huntsville led 16 to 8
after the first quarter and Trucks-
ville was never able to narrow the
deficit. The winners were led by
Pooch Kozik with 26, including 8
of 11 from the foul line. The only
other man in double figures for
Huntsville was Dale Mosier, bro-
ther of Clark Mosier, rookie with
the Wilkes-Barre Barons. Dale.
