Lake-Lehman School District
Holds Delightfu
Lake Lehman Educaticnal Com-
mittee held a delightful Yuletide
Banquet at Irem Temple Country
Club on Tuesday evening, honoring
the faculty, secretaries, custodians,
board members and their wives.
The festive tables were char-
mingly arranged with graceful bas-
kets of holly, greens and Christmas
balls, flanked by tall red tapers.
Red and green foil nut cups and
poinsettia programs completed the
holiday decor.
John Sidler, toastmaster and
chairman of the Educational Com-
mitee, welcomed guests and ex-
pressed pleasure at the growth of
the organization in 14 years, which
began with 22 members. |
Invocation was given by Delbert
Hines and Willard Sutton, presi-
dent of the joint school board, ex-
tended greetings and introduced

Announcement has been made of
the marriage of Thomas N. Elston,
son of Mrs. William H. Elston, Leh-
man, and the late Mr. Elston to

Engineer for Combustion Engineer-

Miss Ellen June Greene, daugh-
ter of Mrs. Maude Belle Green,
Albuquerque, New Mexico, an-
nounces the marriage of her daugh-
ter, Miss Ellen June to Carl Bow-
er Bailey, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Howard D. Bailey, Sunnyvale, Cal,
on October 27.

dan, the bride wore a gown of
hand-clipped chantilly lace styled
with a jeweled saberina neckline
and a bouffant tiered skirt termi-
nating in a chapel train. Her veil
of illusion was -held by .a pearl
coronet. On her right hand she
wore the engagement ring which
had belonged to the groom's ma-
ternal grandmother, this as ‘‘some-
thing old and sentimental”. Her
bouquet of pink carnations, white
feathered. mums and tangerine
stephanotis were carried on a lace-
covered Bible.
Mrs. D. A. McCary was matron
of honor and brides-matrons were
Mrs. Robert Dillon, Roswell, N. M.,
and Mrs. Robert Virgil of Albu-
querque. Their dresses of silk or-
ganza over taffeta were in shades
of tangerine .and coral with bou-
quets of carnations in matching
tones.
Dressed in white, Charlene Bais,
was flower girl and Paul Ritchie
was ring bearer. (Candles were
lighted by Misses Mary Laurine
Dubuque and Linda Wood.
The groom selected Lynn Ritchie
as best man and serving as ush-
ers were David Holt and Robert
Woolsey.
Assisting at the reception in the
church parlors were Miss Cherie
Flud, cousin of the bride, and Mrs.
Robert Quintana, Mrs. Charles
Bass, Miss Jane Bass and Miss
Laura Roberts.
Mother of the bride was dressed
in blue lace with navy accessories
while mother of the groom wore
pure silk in willow green with
matching accessories.
Following a trip to Colorado and
Utah, the newlyweds are at home

Lehman Woman's Club
Holds Christmas Party
The. annual Christmas tea of the
Lehman Woman's Club was held’
recently at the Lehman Fire Hall
with Mrs. Mark Grimm presiding.
During the brief business meet-
ing, reports were given by Mrs.
Thomas Brown and Mrs. Willis
Gentile. It was announced that
the Christmas gifts donated by
club members will be sent to Re-
treat State Hospital. Mrs. Thomas
Hillyer, fine arts chairman, asked
‘the assistance of the club members
in making, holiday favors for the
convalescent homes in the area.

George Elley, presented the fol-
lowing new members in an im-
pressive installatibn ceremony:

of the Yuletide affair and Mrs. Ed-
ward Powell, co-chairman. Mrs.
Thomas Brown and her committee
were in charge of decorating the
meeting hall. The Hospitality
committee headed by Mrs. John
Chesnovitch, set a beautiful
day table. Tea was poured by
Mrs. Mark Grimm. Mrs.

Mountain have been accepted as
Rotary = Exchange students next
year.
Beverly Eck and Sheryl Stanley,
both seniors at Dallas High ‘School
will represent their school district
abroad.
Miss Eck is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Eck, Shavertown,
and Sheryl is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Stanley, Dallas.

Mrs. Keturah Ziegler, Carverton, |
in good health at age 85, will |
leave Sunday to spend several
weeks at the home of her niece,
Mrs. William Collett, N. Miami
Beach, Florida.
A resident of the Back Moun-
tain for the past 26 years, Mrs.
Ziegler lives with her son, LaRoy,
Kingston Township supervisor and
keeps house for him, .
Born in Edwardsville, daughter
of ‘the late Thomas and Sarah
Bunney, Edwardsville, she
married the late James H. Ziegler
¢ | and resided in Kingston before
moving to Carverton.
She is an excellent cook and
does most of the housework, having
a little help occasionally with the
cleaning chores. She is much ad-
mired among her acquaintances
for her immaculate and stylish ap-
pearance and is proudly taken out
by her son on many of his en-
gagements. Her lovely white hair
is always perfectly groomed and
brings many compliments to her.
Sharon Strzelczyk Is
Named Girl Of Month
Sharon = Strzelczyk, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Chester IStrzelezyk, a
senior at Lake Lehman Senior High
School was chosen Girl of the
Month by Harvey’s Lake Women’s
Service Club and presented at their

Miss Eck has chosen Africa a

Switzerland, Mr. Landis, Nether-

Miss Cynthia Konsavage, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kon-
savage, Demunds Road was accept-
ed as an alternate. She is a sopho-.

Linda B. Poole Is Bride Elect

Miss Linda B. Poole, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Bradford C. Poole,
North Dighton, Mass., recently be-
came engaged to S. Jeffrey Ton-
kin, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam-
uel J. Tonkin, Shrine Acres, Dallas.
The bride-elect is a graduate of
Taunton High School and Vermont
College. She is teaching at the
annual Christmas party held re-

Sharon has been on the Honor
Roll and is a member of the Na-

years. LaRoy is a salesman for
Flintcote Corporation.
