The Book Club elected officers
Monday afternoon in the Library
Annex, and enjoyed its annual hol-
iday tea before suspending sessions
for the winter. Because of weather
conditions, it was decided at the
November meeting that the Christ-
mas meeting would be the last
until the third Monday in April.
Mrs. Paul Gross was reelected
prez‘dent. Installed also were these
officers: Mrs. George Jacobs, vice
president; Mrs. Ed Rexer, secre-
tary; Mrs. Herman Thomas, treas-
urer.
The group sang carols. “The beau-
tiful Christmas tree was a git of
David Schooley, companion piece to
the tree in the main librarv.
Presiding at a festive holiday tea-

chrysanthemums and red geran:-
ums flanked by red candles, Mrs.
George Montgomery and Mrs. J. D.

For the fifth annual “Give a Gift to a Boy of St. Michael's School” Holiday
solicitation, Christmas trees have been decorated in honor of the Boys at
w 41 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, and 135 Jefferson Ave., Scranton, the two main
: offices of Pennsylvania Gas and Water Company. The public is cordially
invited to place a Christmas gift under the trees for a St. Michael's Boy.
The principal gift suggestions are articles of clothing for boys between the
ages of 12 and 15. Shirts, jackets, sweaters, trousers, shoes, underwear and
articles of personal grooming are most suitable. If checks are donated, they
should be made out to “St. Michael's Christmas Fund” and donation boxes

Donna Sue Marcase
A six pound, ten ounce daugh-
ter, Donna Sue, was born to Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Marcase, Goe-
ringer Avenue, Shavertown, Decem-
ber 4 at Nesbitt Hospital. This
is their first child. Mrs. Marcase
is the former Sonya Wood, Phil-
adelphia, Miss. Mr. Marcase is as-
sociated with Wilkes College, in:
the music department.

John C. Honeywell will celebrate his
twentieth birthday two days after
Christmas, with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. John Honeywell, Noxen.
Young Honeywell, a 1961 grad-
uate of Lake-Lehman, enlisted
shortly “after graduation. Recently,
he had two months of maneuvers
with a tank battalion on the large
island of Hawaii, returning to Oahu
shortly before jetting off for Phila-
delphia December: 8. He is due
back at Schofield Barracks Jan-
uary 7. Says it’s a ten-hour flight,
with luck.

Howard Ides Are
Leaving Area
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ide will
leave for Bredenton, Florida on
December 31, where they have
purchased a trailer and where
they intend to make their home.
The Ides will be dinner guests
of Tax Collector and Mrs. Louis
Wilcox on Sunday, and will assist
the - Wilcoxs’ in trimming their
Christmas tree, as has been their
custom for the past ten years. The
Ides will be missed as they have
been very active in the Trucksville
Methodist Church.

room doll house, easily converted
into an ottoman. Plans have been
on the drawing board over several
years and much time was required
in finding the right materials for
the miniature home.

their daughter, Phyllis Jean, to
Albert J. Tondora, son of Mrs.
Helen Tondora, Fernbrook, and the
late Mr. Joseph Tondora.
Ceremony took place in St. Ther-
ese’'s Church, with Rev. Francis
Brennan officiating
Mr. and Mrs. August Stella were
attendants.
