Cub Scouts 233
Receive Awards
Cub (Scout Pack 233 of Shaver-
town met recently in St. Paul's
church for its regular monthly
meeting to present the boys their
awards.
Opening ceremony was in charge
of Den 6 with Mrs. Andy Roan,
Den Mother. A Bobcat ceremony
was presented, “What makes a Cub
Scout” narrated by Mrs. Warren
Boyes and portrayed by Jeff Boyes.
Edwin Stolarick, Cub Master was
in charge of the meeting and pre-
sented the following boys with
their awards. Bobcat pins — Billy
Rice, Kenny Stolarick, Arnold Yeugst,
Michael Youngblood, Larry Klaboe,
Andy Ondish, Larry McDonald, Jon-
athan Slater, William Cook, Charles
enbach, and Billy Lamoreaux.
> One year pins to Jeffery Allen,
Walter Karl, Scott Wimmer, and
Peter Swain; Denner stripe to Ric-
ky Their; Assistant Denner, Joe
Precone; Silver Arrow on Wolf
Badge to Alan Shaver. and Ricky
Yeust; two vear pin and bear badee
to James McCabe; Bear badge, Wil-.
liam Youngblood; Webeles badge to
Ronald Biggs. . Group singing of
Christmas carols were accompanied
on the piano bv Dr. Swain. A skit,
combining the World of Sound and
an old Fashioned Christmas was
precented by Den 1 with Mra. John
Porter, Den Mother and Den 2,
Mrs. Walter Karl, Den Mother.
Mrs. William Frederick. Auxil-
jarv president ‘talked ahout the
selling of fruit cakes and peanuts
for Christmas. She then introduced
Mrs. Edwin Stolarick as new sec-
retary of the group.

‘Rep. Shunnik Is Guest
Speaker At Banquet
~ Members of Lake-Lehman Foot-
ball team were honored recently
by the Mothers Club at a banquet
held at Lake-Lehman High School.
Representative Fred Shupnik was
guest speaker. Seated at the
main tablé were Coach and Mrs.
Edward Edwards, Assistant coach
and Mrs. John Zaleskas, Assistant
Coach and Mrs. Kenneth Maciak,
- Recreational director, Stanley Gul-
bish and Miss Geraldine Magda,
Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Marchaki-
tis, Lester Squier, Robert Z. Bel-
~ lag, Mrs. Gilbert Tough and Mr.
Shupnik.
. In recognition of his first year
“with the team, Mr. Kenneth Ma-
ciak was presented a jacket. Sen-
ior boys who received jackets were
Fred Brown, David Cook, Bill
Ehret, Ken Ellsworth. Allan Lan-
dis, Larry Lettie, Dick Lopasky,
Larry Peterson, Don Rittenhouse,
Jack Sorber, Carl Squier, Jim
Worth and David Dersheimer.
Gifts were also presented to the

MISSIONARY SOCIETY ELECTS
OFFICERS AT CHRISTMAS
Glenview P. M. Church Mission-
ary Society met Thursday evening
in the social rooms for a Christ
mas party. Refreshments were’
served by Mrs. Anna Compton and |
Mrs. Evelyn Seward.
Elected to office were: President,
Mrs. Doris Derrick; Vice-President,
Mrs. Mary Shaver; Secretary-Treas-
urer, Miss Verna Lamoreaux; As-
sistant, Mrs. Shirley Susaraba;
Good Cheer; Mrs. Caroline Moss.
Members paid their pledges of
the American Bible A month plan;
Native Pastor Fund of Guatemala;
Egg and Milk Fund of Guatemala
and are sending boxes of men’s
used clothing to the Bowery Mis-
sions, New York. Also they are
gathering used clothing to be sent
for world relief.
Gifts were exchanged and re-
freshments served to Mesdames
