and Mrs. Nicholas Dickson, is on
a 30 day leave, at his home on
Ransom Road. Leslie has been in
service on Okinawa, then' to Japan
and Hawaii.

Camp Marine Base, West
Virginia, to sign in on Christmas
Day. Leslie is a graduate of Dal-
las High School. We were all very
glad to welcome him home, and
hope he will soon be home for
good. :

brother of Leslie, spent a few days
at their parents’ home last week,
but have now returned to their
own home in New Jersey. Darryl
is a male nurse in Lyon’s Veterans
Hospital, New Jersey.
It was like a family reunion for
the Dicksons, as their daughter,
Carolyn Spudis is back home from
Texas, where her husband Robert
Spudis is stationed in the Armed
Forces." It will be a happy day
when he will .be able to join her
soon,
Mr. and Mrs. John Rice, Forty
Fort, and Mrs. Rice's mother, Mrs.
Floyd Nulton, Binghamton, «spent
last Thursday with Myrtle Miller
and George Snyder, Hildebrant
Road.
. Mrs. Grace Moore, Mabel Bell,
Lucy Morgan and Myrtle Miller at-
tended the annual Christmas ban-
quet and party, of the Orange
Methodist Church, Ladies Bible
Class. A turkey dinner was pre-
pared and served by the Cheerio
Class, in the church social hall
Saturday, Dec. 7.
Due to illness, their teacher,
Mrs. George Schallenberger was
unable to attend.
Artie did it again”. While slid-
ing at Bill Perry's home, Artie
Baird, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mal-
colm Baird, fell and cut his leg
bad’ egough that he was rushed to
hospital where it required four
sutures.
Ella Moore Memorial Class of
East Dallas Methodist ‘Church, held
their annual Christmas party in
the social hall, Tuesday evening,
December 10. A covered dish,
buffet style dinner was enjoyed by
Mary Hoover, Jule Wilson, Helen
Siley, Betty Kintzer, Rev. and Mrs.
William Watson, and sons Brian
and Mark, Gladys Brace, Viola

Moore, Mary Cook, Jeanette Dick-

given by Linda Watson. Young
Brian Watson had a grand time
passing out the Christmas gifts.

the trio trumpeters are who will
accompany the carol singers from
East Dallas’ Church, Sunday eve-
ning, ‘Dec. 22,: they are Warren
Dewitt, Robert Wiley. and Thomas
Rowett.
Next Sunday morning during
Sunday School, 10:15, a film on
“The Spirit of Christmas” will be
shown to all departments, courtesy
of Commonwealth Telephone Com-
pany.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Nicholas,
Binghamton, were guests all last
week of the latter's sister, Mrs.
John Mokychic, and family. . No
doubt” they helped Nettie move
and get settled in the newly re-
modeled home, on the late Wilson
estate, which Wilson Ryman pur-
chased. Mr. and Mrs. Magee live
in one half of the home,
The “Singspiration” held in East
Dallas Church Sunday evening was
effort put in by the choir, accom-
panied by [Howard Dymond, or-
ganist, and Reverend Mr. Watson
at the piano. Members were
Beverly Dickson, Carolyn D. Spu-
dis, Carol Cadwalder, Priscilla Cool-
baugh, Mary An Goble, Mimi Cad-
walder, Diana Pickett, Dorothy
Mason, Pamela Hunter, Mary Mor-
gan, Mrs. Robinson, and Betty La-
moreaux. Ronald Clemow planned

Noxen Fireman's Auxiliary held
a * well-attended Christmas party
December 10. A delicious ham din-
ner was enjoyed with the tables
decorated, and a musical Christ-
mas tree. Games were played and
gifts exchanged. A business mect-
ing was also held, with the following
new members added: Mrs. Paul Kei-
per, Mrs. Loren Case, Dorothy
French, Miss Pat Newell, and Mrs.
Russell Newell.

per, Loren Case, Dorothy French,
Ronald Hopfer, Jacob Miner, Ruth
Field, William Butler, Fred Schenck,
Oscar Fish, Loren Case, Roy Dend-

Mrs. Tom Swire underwent ma-
jor surgery at Wyoming Valley
and supervised.
After a jet went over recently,
leaving its lovely white trail in the
sky, my granddaughter, Pattie
Moore said, - “Oh look! There is
Jesus's clothesline.” Sort of a
child’s . fellowship connection,
wouldn’t you say ?
Which reminds me, not too long
ago the Sunday School lesson was
about the Feast of the Passover.
After the class, the teacher asked
who could tell her what the lesson
was about. One of my grand-
daughters lifted her hand and said,
“It was all about the Feast of the
leftovers.”
The local hobby club met Decem-
ber 10, at Kingston House, for
their annual Christmas Party.

I was happy to receive a letter
last week, from the Paul Valen-
tines, Auburndale, Florida. They
were both mwell and happy, and
busy as bees with church activi-
ties.

tioned at Biggs Air Force Base, El
Paso, Texas is home on a thirty-day
