Give A Phone
Commonwealth Telephone Com-
pany has opened a Christmas gift
center at the Business Office, 100
Lake Street. J. N. Landis, District
Manager announces that a wide
range of telephone ideas will be on
display and a gift counselor will
be on duty to corsult with shop-
pers. Telephone gifts will be at-
tractively gift wrapped.
Mrs. Carlin, in charge of the gift
center, recommends for Dad, a
space-maker phone in the den or
workshop, and/or a special out-
door bell which summons him when
he is at work in the yard or gar-
age.
Mother will welcome gaily col-
ored extension telephones for var-
ious areas . . .a handy wall phone
for the kitchen, a petite “Starlite”
phone for her bedside, a telephone
in- the laundry. Telephones in sev-
eral areas will make her work so
much easier, Mrs. Carlin points
out. 3
| Teenagers will welcome a pri-
i vate telephone with a separate num-
! ber for their own use, insuring
| uninterrupted use of a telephone
| without interfering with other fam-
ily members.
Younger children in the family
can share in telephone gifts with
extens'ons in their rooms, and
wenial listings in- the telephone di-
rectory, — right alongside the par-
ents listing. !
Grandmother will- love an illum-
inated-dial phone in her room —
one that makes iteasy for her to see
the figures as she dials. If Grand-
ra 3 hard-of-hearing, a special
hard-of-hearing set will be an ideal
gift for him.
A convenience for the entire
family is the new home-intercom
system or telephone door-answer-
ing unit which enables members
to talk with vistors at the front
door without unlocking the doors
~~ leaving work areas. Home inter-
phone permits conversations be-
tween rooms, and switching of calls
fram one room to another.
Telephones come in a wide range
of colors and styles, including reg-
ular desk vhones, the beautiful
commact “Starlite” © phone. and
handy wall phones. One of the
newest gift ideas is the bell chime
which can be installed for a plea-
sant bell tone whenever a call
comes into the home.
These and many other gift items,
to meet special requirements, are
vailahle at the Commonwealth:
Telephone ' Company gift center.
Complete details may be secured
dily between now and Christmas.
As a final gift suggestion, Mrs.
Carlin says that every telephone
subscriber has someone who would
welcome a Christmas greeting by
telephone on Christmas day. Whe-
ther it's across country or across
town, a cheery “Merry Christmas’
by phone will brighten any home
for Christmas.
