Creek, became the bride of Thomas
Hopa, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Hopa, Dallas, on (Saturday, Novem-
ber 23.
The double-ring ceremony was
solemnized at the Huntsville Christ-
ian Church by Rev. Morgan Richard
Bevan, officiating.
The bride wore a street length
dress of white satin brocade, prin-
cess style, with scoop neckline and
bracelet length sleeves.
Her headpiece was a short veil
attached to a white band. She car-
ried a cascade bouquet of white car-
nations and wore crystal jewelry,
loaned by her gister-in-law, Mrs.
Gerald Stoner, Philadelphia.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Glenn
Brown, Lehman Heights.

Scotts Have Trying Time
Mrs. Melvina Scou-4, Lovalville, ic
now able to be up and about after
being a patient in General Hospital,
suffering from a heart condition.
Mr. Scott has also been ill like-
wise from a heart ailment and was
hospitalized during the month of
Heptember.
Although having a rather trying
time, Mrs. Scott is thankful that
she and her hushand may be to-
aovher and continues to have faith
‘for the future.
Thanksgiving Baby

Thanksgiving Day of a six pound

child. Charles Robert Newell Jr.

Bride Of Thomas Hopa, Dallas
was of pink carnations.
George Isaacs, Trucksville, was
Mr. Hopa’s best man and Gerald
Stoner, brother-ir-law of the bride-
groom and Ronald Grant served as
ushers.
Mrs. Earl T. Crane, mother of the
bride, wore a rose lace dress over
taffeta with black and white acces-
sories and white carnation corsage.
Following the wedding a recep-
tion for one-hundred and five guests
was held at Lehman Fire Hall, after
which the couple left on a wedding

Mr. Hopa is associated in business
with his father, Edward Hopa, Con-
tractor. The couple are residing in
a mobile home at Hunlock Creek,
R. D. 1, in the Sweet Valley area.
Pre-nuptial showers were given
by the bride's grandmother, Mrs.
Albert Kocher, Warrior Run, and
by Mrs. Glenn Brown and Mrs.
Robert Lasco, Lehman Heights.

Bwarded Many Ratings
At a ceremony which saw two
Troop 281 Boy Scouts, Bruce Da-
vies and Jeffery Morris, awarded
the Eagle Scout emblems, other
boys won ratings.

Susie Ann Piskorik
A seven and a half pound daugh-
ter, Susie Ann, was born to Mr. and
Mrs. George Piscorik, RD 2, Dallas
November 27 at General Hospital.
There are two other children, Deb-
bie and George. Mrs. Piscorik is
the former Wilma Bancovage, Ed-
wardsville, Mr. Piscorik is employed
as an electrical engineer.

Friendship Class of Little White
Church on the Hill, Trucksville,
will present the Women's Chorus
of Wilkes College in a musical pro-
gram, Tuesday evening, December
17.
Mrs. Sharon Nunemacher is di-
rector and Selia Rosen, accompan-
‘nt. Both are seniors at Wilkes Col-
lege,

Wedding Date
Mr. and Mrs. Thomes Lynch of
R. D. 4, Dallas, were guests of hon-
or recently at a dinner party at
the Gus Gennetti Hotel in Hazel-
ton. The occasion was their 18th
wedding anniversary. ;
Mr. and Mrs. Lynch moved to
Pennsylvania 11 years ago from
Long Island, New York. They have
resided in Oak Hill for the past
six years with their four children,
Cathy, Nancy, Robert and Barbara.
Janice Peiffer Is
Guest At Party
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Peiffer en-
tertained at a family -dinner party
honoring their only daughter, Jan-
ice, who observed her tenth birth-
day December 2. A lovely birthday
cake was the centerpiece. Attending
were Mrs. Della Hann, Mr. and Mrs.
Gerwin Mekeel, the honoree’s bro-
thers, Jesse and Ralph, the guest
of honor and her parents. Janice
is a member of the fifth grade at
Ross Elementary School, Sweet Val-
ley. ;

Mr. and Mrs. John H. Lewis, Jr.,
Appletree Road, Harding, announce
the birth of a daughter December
8 at General Hospital. Sandra Jane
| weighed in at eight pounds, five
ounces, the fourth child for’ the
Lewises. Linda is 7; Jacqueline 4;
and Scott, 2. Mrs. Lewis is the for-
mer Eleanor Jane Gilbert, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Gilbert, Wil-
kes-Barre. ’

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Albért Smith,
Chase, "announce the birth of their -
first child, a daughter, Tammy Jo,
born December 3, at Wilkes-Barre
General Hospital. The new arrival
weighed in at seven pounds, eleven
ounces. Mrs. Smith is the former
Jame Ann Cooper, daughter of Mr. |
and Mrs. Robert Cooper, Chase. Mr.
Smith, who is employed at Pennsyl-
vania Gas and Water Company, is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Smith, Sweet Valley.
