MORE GROSBEAKS
_ Mrs. Elsie Mahoney, Sweet Val-
ley, reports six evening grogbeaks
at her bird feeder. Bird-watchers
have noted a number of evening
grosbeaks, but nothing to compare
with the numbers seen here five
years ago, when a flock of fifty was
no rarity.

$1 Billion Insurance
Locally Represented
From $2 million in January 1959,
Investors Syndicate Life Insurance
and Annuity Company has now top-
ped $1 billion life insurance in force,
individual policyholders, the com-
pany announced, through local a-
gent Thomas Kreidler.
John H. Blackman, Jr., ~Forty-
Second Street ,is chairman of the
board.
Investors reached the ‘half billion
mark in October 1961 and reported
77,000 policyholders with $806 mil-
lion life insurance in force at the
1962 year end. The company is now
licensed “and doing business in 48
states and the District of Columbia.
[Stressing that investors sells only
individual life policies, no group in- |
or creditors insurance,
Thomas W. Moses, president, attri-
buted the company’s growth to the
energy and dedication of its 3’,000-
man national sales force.
“Millions of Americans are under-
insured,” he said. “Investors repre-
sentatives take the company’s ser-
vices directly to the public. They are
helping people to realize that life
insurance is indispensable in plan-
ming a future secure with adequate
protection for both ~ families and
businesses. We expect to double our
number of policyholders within a
very few years.”
Investors Syndicate Life is a whol-
ly- owned subsidiary of Investrs Di-
versified Services, Inc. (IDS), 69
vear old investment management
firm with more than $4.6 billion in
current assets under mamagement.
The insurance company rounds out
the financial services of the Inves-
tors Group, which includes a face
amount certificate subsidiary and
five mutual funds.
