Miss Kathy Dobinick, Alexandria,
Va., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John
Dobinicki, Goeringer Avenue, Sha-
vertown, has accepted a position
with the National Aeronautics and
Space Administration (NASA) in
‘Washington, D. C.
A graduate of West Central Cath-
olic High School, she has been em-
ployed by the Navy. Department for
the past two years.

Laidlers See Former
Residents On Trip
With 8,600 extra miles on their
speedometer, result of a trip to the
Pacific Coast, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Laidler returned to Pioneer Avenue,
Dallas, in time to get settled down
again for Thanksgiving.
They stopped in Sun City, Ari-
zona, to see Miss Miriam Lathrop,
and report that she looks marvelous,
and that she has a pet cat, and is
leading a very full life, doing ail
the things she did not find time
to do while librarian here. In Sun
City, the Laidlers picked up the
most recent copy of the Dallas Post,
and finished catching up on neigh-
gorhocd news in California.
On the Coast, they saw the Fos-
ter Straners in Los Angeles, and the
Robert Harrises near San Francisco.
And talk about drought — all
through the West they crossed
bridge after bridge spanning river
courses without a drop of water
flowing in them.
Dallas looked lush and green by

second daughter, Valerie Ann, born
November 8, at Wilkes-Barre Gener-
al Hospital. She has a six year old

ember 23 at 11 a. m. ;

ed the nuptial mass before an altar
decorated with bouquets of gladioli
| and chrysanthemums and a sanc-
tuary banked with palms. Dan

Escorted by her father, the bride
wore a floor length gown of chiffon
taffeta, designed with a modified
! | scoop neckline with applique at the
neck and bracelet length sleeves.
Applique was repeated at the waist,
skirt front and chapel “train. Her
headpiece was a small crown of
pearls and scintillating borealis
i | beads from which flowed a bouf-
| | fant finger tip veil of illusion. She
| carried a cascade bouquet of white
chrysanthemums and pompons.

maid of honor and Miss Eileen
Cooney, Roselle Park, N. J. was
bridesmaid.

was of white carnations.

The bride’s grandmother wore a
costume of acetate green print with

| Mrs. Peter Malin, Luzerne, grand-

| blue lace gown with turquoise ac-
| cessories. Both grandmothers wore
| white carnation corsages.
A reception followed the cere-
{mony at Kingston Restaurant, Un-
lion, N. J., after which the couple
left on a wedding trip to Washing-
ton, D. C. and Virginia.
The bride is a graduate of St.
Mary’s High School, Elizabeth, N.J.,
Essex School of Business, Newark
and had been employed at Rahway
| Hospital as a medical secretary.
Mr. Zorzi graduated from Lake-
Lehman High School, Bloomsburg |
State College and is a mathematics |
instructor at Valley Road School,
Princeton, N, J.
The couple will reside at 208
Center Street, Princeton.

on Thanksgiving this year, Mr. and
Mrs. Willard Lozo, Sr., Shavertown,
will share their observance with
some members of their family.
Forty-five years have passed
quickly and Mr. Lozo is now re-
tired. Both he and his wife have
been active members of St. Paul's
Lutheran Church, Shavertown, and
she continues her participation in
the Ladies Auxiliary and the church
circles.
Mr.
Lozo's hobbies are baseball
and politics. A friendly nature
Distribute Many
Dallas Women of Kiwanis will
distribute Thanksgiving.baskets this
afternoon to needy in the Back
Mountain region.
Mrs. Helen Rice will supervise
| the packing of the baskets at the
home of Mrs. Robert Maturi, Sutton
Road. Mrs. James Huston, Sr., is
co-chairman of the social project.
Assisting + are Mesdames - Alfred
Ackerman, Edwin Thompson, Sher-
man Harter, John Blase, Thomas
Kreidler, Ernest Gay. Key Club
will assist in delivery.

the Kiwanis Women began with the

Penn Ryn, now residing at the
home of her son and wife, Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Hosler, Parrish Street
was pleasantly surprised, Friday af-
ternoon, when a group of neighbors
helped celebrate her birthday. She
was presented with flowers. Those
present were Mesdames Carl Dau-
bert, Don Paeglow, James LaBar,
G. S. Williams, Charles Hosler,

attended a performance of ‘Beauty
and the Beast” at College Misericor-
dia on Saturday.

their fifth son, Terry Lynn. The
new comer was born November 18,

parents of a five pound, fifteen
ounce son, Kevin Leon, November 8
at General Hospital. This is the
couple’s first child. Mrs. Denmon
is the former Josephine Cook, Cen-

Christmas Party
Shavertown Fire Auxiliary will
hold its annual Christmas party for
firemen, wives and families on Sat-
urday evening, Dec. 7 at 6:30 at
the fire hall.
A covered - dish supper will be
served, and following the meal a
party will be enjoyed with Santa
on hand to bring youngsters each
a gift. ‘A tree has been donated, and
will be trimmed for the occasion.
Reservations must be made no la-
ter than November 30 with Mrs.

a daughter, their third child, in
General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, No-
vember 17. Lori Ann, six pounds

two older children are staying while
