Buys Winter Jackets
November meeting of the Leh-
man Woman's Club was held at the
Lehman Fire Hall recently with
Mrs. Mark Grimm presiding.
Mrs. Grimm announced that the
executive board has appointed Mrs.
Thomas Brown to replace Mrs. Jo-
seph Chipola as secretary. Mrs.
William Geiger will assume Mrs.
Chipola’s responsibilities as publi-
city chairman.
Mrs. Edward Skalicky, chairman
of community improvement, report-
ed the purchase of winter jackets
for needy children in the commun-
ity. Also purchased were articles
of clothing which were donated to
the Lehman Elementary School.
Esther Avila, a Rotary exchange
student, presented a very informa-
tive program on her home in Ar-
gentina and showed slides of her
native city of Cordoba.
She is now attending Lake-Leh-
man High School.
Refreshments were
Mesdames Robert Disque, Edward
Micky, Eston Adelman, and Charles
Bedner. Mrs. George Elley was
chairman.

Mr. and Mus. Otto Oloffson, Har-
veys Lake, were feted Saturday ev-
ening, November 2 by the Ladies
Auxiliary of Reformation Lutheran
Church at a surprise party honor-
ing their 50th wedding anniver-
sary.

versary Sunday November 24.
The couple were married in Holy
Trinity = Church, Wilkes-Barre by
Rev. Victor J. Kupstas, brother of
Mr. Kupstas.
Mrs. Kupastas is the former Mar-
ian Gates, daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Gates of Wilkes-
Barre and Mr. Kupstas is the pon
of ‘the late Mr. and Mrs. [Stanley
Kupstas also of Wilkes-Barre.

The couple has ‘three children,
Mrs. David Bonsavage, R.N., Phila-
delphia; John, with the U. S. Air
Force stationed in Germany, and
Thomas, also with the U. S. Air
Force, stationed in Dover, Delaware.
Mr. Kupstas is an employee of the
Pennsylvania Railroad.
Mr. and Mrs. Kupstas are mem-
bers of Gate of Heaven Church, Dal-
las. A mass of Thanksgiving will
be celebrated in that church on
Saturday morning.
An unusual event will take place
among several Dallas neighbors and
friends over the weekend when all
will observe joint anniversaries.
On Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Geo-
rge Cave, Jr., Monroe Avenue, will
celebrate their 21st year of mar-
riage on the same day as his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. George Cave,
Sr., Wilkes-Barre, are marking their
42nd wedding date.

First Child Is Born
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crosson,
142 N. Lehigh Street, Shavertown;
annuonce the birth of a daughter,
Ketra Suzanne, weighing six pounds,
six ounces on November 7 in Gen-
eral Hospital.
This is the first child of the couple.
Mr. Crosson, a native of Dallas,
Texas, is executive secretary of the
Back Mountain Y.M.C.A.
His wife is the former Janet Gray,
Mansfield, Ohio.
