Organ Dedication Sunday At 3 P.M.
First Christian Church of Sweet
Valley will dedicate its new Wur-
litzer Concert organ: Sunday after-
noon at 3. The public is invited to
attend the ceremonies, and to enjoy
a concert of sacred music presented
by Ivor Price, professional organ-
ist with the Raymond Memorial
Church in Scranton for the past
twelve years. Mr. Price has been
a frequent visitor to the Interna-
tionally known Eisteddfod in Wales.
Morgan Leyshon, also of Rey-
mond Memorial, will direct the
singing, and Mary Evans Salamida
will present solo work.
Coffee, tea and cookies will be
served in the church parlors fol-
lowing the program.
The organ, anonymous gift to the
church, was installed in September,
replacing the piano which had until
that time been used for services.
At the console have been several
organists of the congregation: Burl
Updyke, Sharon Coombs, June Min-
gus, Frances Smith, pianist has al-
so been working with the orgam.

Educational Wing Is
Erected And Roofed

been awarded the plumbing contract
for the mew Trucksville Free Meth-
odist Church, announces Wesley
Cooper, Jr., chairman of the Board
of Trustees.
Construction began on the new
church on the morning of Septem-
ber 16 when the bulldozer arrived
to begin the excavation. At this
writing, the educational wing has
been erected and the roof is com-
pleted. The basement walls are all
complete and the subflooring is
complete in the entire building.
The company providing the lam-
inated arches did not deliver them
on schedule, so the work on the
sanctuary has been held up tempor-
arily. However, ‘the other work con-
tinues in a drive to enclose the en-
tire building before bad weather
arrives.

MISSIONARY IN JAPAN
HAS SISTER IN DALLAS
Rev. John Lavin, 36, a Mary-
knoll missionary stationed in Kyoto,
Japan, died of a heart attack Fri-
day and was buried in the Mary-
knoll plot following a Solemn High
Mass of Requiem at the Cathedral.
The young missionary, home for
a visit two years ago, leaves a sis-
ter, Mrs. Frank Michael, in Dallas.

‘He is the first member of his

served as an altar boy eight years
at Our Lady of Victory chapel.
