This is for the bene- fit of the club meeting held yester- day, Wednesday, October 9. CLASS RINGS Class, Rings, very welcome to the Seniors, arrived last week. AUSTRALIA VISITOR Dallas students are very happy to have had Meredith Billing of Colac, Victoria, Australia at the school. She attended the school during the week of October 1. In an interview, Meredith stated she “found the stu- dents very friendly and easy to get along with. They are not very dif- ferent from Australia ‘teachers, who are always helpful”. She likes the way students are able to mix science and humanities in their schedule. In her homeland, Meredith said that they must choose Art, commercial or science courses in their junior year. As for our schools, she found a ‘very good variety of modern sub- jects. The facilities are excellent in regards to rooms, sports, and activ- ities”. Meredith leaves for London and a tour on November 16. All students | enjoyed Meredith’s charming per- sonality and join in wishing her continued luck and success. On Thursday, September 19th, the Junior Class of Dallas Senior High School had a meeting to elect of- ficers of the Junior Class. Officers elected were: president, Charles! ROMAN REPOTSKI, JR. Pvt. Roman N. Repotski, Jr., son of Mrs. Ruth Repotski, Trucksville, will celebrate his 24th birthday Saturday with the Armed Services in ‘Germany. Stationed at Mt. Jackson, S. C., for his basic training, he was as- signed to Fort Gordon, Georgia, for Military Police training and upon completion of advanced individual instruction, was sent to Germany on September 24 for a period of one and a half years. While stationed abroad he will have the opportunity of traveling to Switzerland, France, Italy and England. Prior to entering the Army, Re- potski was manager of Morse Shoe Department, Union, N. Scores will be given in English, social stud- ies, mathematics, natural science and word usage, Certificates of merit go to students ranking in the top 25 percentile of students taking the test. Scholarships are being offered by the Nationa] Honor Society to mem- bers of that organization. The Pennsylvania Employment Service Test was administered to 75 Seniors on Thursday and Friday, October 3 and 4 in the auditorium.
