PTA Council Assigns
Committee Posts
Officers and delegates of the Back
Mountain PTA Council met Tuesday
in Dallas High School with president,
~~ Willis Gentile to discuss dues, pro-
gram, safety and to apportion com-
mittee assignments.
Members attending and assign-
ments are: Dr. Robert A. Mellman,
superintendent of schools; Mrs. Wel-
ton Farrar, vice-president and mem-
bership chairman; Mrs. Robert L.
Fleming, secretary; Mrs. Irvin Jacobs,
Treasurer; James Darling, represent-
ing William Frey, legislation chair-
man; Mrs. Louise Colwell, safety
chairman; Mrs. George Budd and
Mrs. A. Curtis Edwards, audit co-
chairmen; Mrs. Gorden Wolverton,
by-laws; Mrs. James Besecker, Jr.,
publicity.
Dr. Mellman stated it is the re-
sponsibility of each respective munic-
ipality and NOT the school board
to handle traffic amd pedestrian
control.
Schools will again participate in
the United Fund program.

Birman Here On Leave
A /1C Ronald Rogowski. surprised
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Rogowski of Pikes Creek last Thurs-
day, when he appeared suddenly for
a- leave. from the Air Force after
an absence in England of nearly
three ‘years. ‘The 21-year old air-
man; graduate of West Side Central |
High School, will return to England
October 31.

unusually large turnout for their
Fashion Show Friday evening.
Miss Carol Guild, hostess of ‘the
television show, “ A Visit With
Carol ”, proved a delightiul com-
mentator.

ment store featured top styles for
madame, miss and teenager. Even
the young fry fashions were Hon
ing.
First prize of $65 in sbtchon.
dise and $10 for a hat was awarded
to Mrs. Warren Daubert. A fifty
star flag was won by Mrs. William
Gennetts. Numerous other prizes
were awarded during the evening.
Mrs. Paul Doris won the custom
made hat. Refreshments followed
the program.

cancer victims, are nursing, medica-
tion, dressings, transportations, fur-
nishing hospital beds and general
sick room needs and a program of
speech rehabiliation and a tumor
