Counseling Workship
Mrs. Lewis Rogers III, Shaver-
tow, attended a College Counseling
Workshop held recently at Syracuse
University, Syracuse, for area
alumni representatives.
Sponsored joimtly by ‘the SU
Alumni Association and the Admigz-
sions Office, the purpose of the pro-
gram was to train alumni to repre-
sent Syracuse University at, their
area high schools, giving up-to-date
information regarding ‘the university
to prospective college students.
Over 100 persons representing
alumni groups from California to
| Delaware attended the conference.
! Featured speakers included Dr. Wil-
liam P. Tolley chancellor; Dr. New-
ell W. Rossman, vice president for
development; Dr. Clark D. Ahlberg,
vice president for administration and
research; and Dr. Eric H. Faigle, vice
president and dean of liberal arts.

Women of Prince of Peace were
hostesses at a reception last [Sunday |
afternoon in honor of Mr. and Mrs.
Johannes ‘Forck, of Cologne, Germ=
any. Mr. and Mrs. Forck, parents
of Mrs. John S. Prater, wife of the
Rector of Prince of Peace Church,
were guests of the Praters until
October 2, when they returned
to Germany by Jet from Idle-
wild Airport. The Forcks last visited
the United States in 1958.
Approxiately 150 people were in-
troduced to the guests of honor.
Mrs. Forck was presented with a

er's Holiday announces that the
adult classes of Mrs. Warren Yar-
nal, teacher of Beginner's Sewing,
have a very large enrollment. These
YWCA members have a chance to
learn how to sew, while their pre-
school children are being well taken
care of in the supervised nursery
from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. In
this way a housewife has the oppor-
tunity to relax, to learn, and to
socialize with other women in her
classes during the hours when her
husband is, at work. Classes are held |
each Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to
12:00.

Utica Festival
Mrs. Jennie Roberts and Mrs.
Peter Duda, Dallas, attended the
Welsh-American Festival at Utica,
N. Y., last weekend.

Jones, Wales, who is touring this
country on an English speaking
‘union scholarship, making a survey
of the use of television in education.
Mr. Jones taught Jeannie Duda
while she was a resident of Wales
and she was delighted to see her old
instructor.
The - Welsh visitor was a guest
while in Utica of Miss Myra Jones,
Hartford, N. Y., a school chum of
Mrs. Duda, whom she also visited.
