Miss Jessica Thomas, high school English teacher, recently attended the meeting of the Luzerne County Council of the International Reading Association which was held at the Educational Guidance Center in Wilkes-Barre. Dr. Josephine Wolfe, Pennsylvania director of reading re- search projects, was the featured speaker and presented the newest approach to the teaching of reading. Mr.. Thomas, of Diges and Clust, will be at the high school in the near future to take ring orders. The of- ficial Lake Lehman class ring and school jewelry are on display in. the main corridor. The dance band, under the stu- dent leadership of Jay Ruckel, as- sisted by Dave Sutton, ‘began re- organization last week. Both old favorites and popular songs will be played by the group. Mr. Miliauskas is the director. Jay Ruckel was elected president of the prize-winning Lake-Lehman band by that group.
