Wed Fifty Years
Mr. and Mrs. Merle R. Smith, Mt.
Zion will observe their 50th wedding |
anniversary on Tuesday, October 1.
The couple were married October
1, 1913, in Carverton Methodist |
Church Parsonage by Rev. William
D. Lathrop. They were attended by
Mr. and Mrs. John Perry, Orange.
Mrs. Smith is the former Jennie
Kitchen, Mt. Zion.
The Smiths have resided all their
lives in Mt. Zion and are active §
members of Mt. Zion Methodist §
Church. |
Until a few years ago; Mr. Smith
had a milk route and did carpentry
work. He still does odd jobs and
tends a fine garden, while his wife
‘continues her favorite hobby of
needlework.
The Smiths have two daughters,
Mrs. William LaBar, Mt. Zion and
Mrs. Kenneth Disque, ‘Hyattsville,
Md. Also four grandhildrenr.
Open house will be held at their
home on Sunday, September 29
from 2 to 10 p.m. No formal invi
tations will be issued.

Four Generations In Parsons Family

generations of the Parsons family.

1, Harveys Lake, were honored at a
buffet style supper, at their home
recently, when they celebrated their
silver wedding anniversary.
They were married September
14, 1938, at St. Stanislaus Roman
Catholic Church Maspeth, Long Is-
land, N.Y. by Reverend Matthew
Houlihan.
Attending were Delores Shan-
non and Frank Floria, both of Mas-
peth, Long Island, N.Y.
The couple have seven chidren,
Michael, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Walter
: Kingston.
Hoover, Lehman; and Willard Jr,
Francis, Ann and John at home.
| There are five orandchildren.
Mr. Parsons is employed by the
Lehigh Valley Railroad.

Mr. and Mrs. Stamley Szela, Jr.,
47 Harris St., Fernbrook, will cele-
brate their 27th wedding anniver-
sary today. They were married in
St. Anthony’s Church, Larksville, by
Rev. Francis J. Powell with Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Woznicki as their at-
tendants. ~
The couple have three sons, |Stan-
ley, 3rd, Hillside, New Jersey; Ron-
ald and Edward at home. They also
have one granddaughter , Linda,
Hillside, New Jersey.
Mrs. Szela is the former Joseph-
ine Korda, daughter of Mrs. Anna
Korda andthe late Mr. Korda, R. D.
No. 1, Plymouth. Mr. Szela is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Szela,
R. D. No. 1 Dallas. Mr. Szela is em-
ployed by Food Fair, Linden, New
Jersey. They will have a family din-
ner on September 29 in honor of the -
observance.
